Provided services to deaf patients within all areas the hospital. Assessments included baseline and comprehensive psychological evaluations, and risk assessments. Conducted individual and group therapy as needed. Served as principle investigator of institutional review board approved research on seclusion and restraint among deaf and hard of hearing patients. Psychologist Resident Worked with adults in an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting. Most patients were male forensic patients placed under the Psychiatric Security Review Board as a result of being adjudicated as Guilty Except for Insanity for a crime. Additionally worked with some civilly committed patients. Responsibilities included conducting assessments, therapy sessions, program development, and outreach under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. Assessments included baseline and comprehensive psychological evaluations and risk assessments. Conducted individual therapy as needed. Wrote and managed treatment care plans. Led Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings, providing feedback regarding patients emotional and behavioral functioning. In addition to normal duties, provided services to all deaf patients committed to the hospital. Oregon School for the Deaf, Salem, Oregon School Psychologist Conducted psychological evaluations of students referred for assessment. Intervened with aggressive students. Assessed students expressing suicidality or dangerousness toward others and intervened as necessary. Responsible for managing bullying program and intervening in reported cases of bullying. Completed functional behavioral assessments and therapy services as needed. Responsible for special education eligibility for all Oregon School for the Deaf students. Led Individualized Education Plan team meetings to review and determine eligibility. University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, JFK Partners Deaf Link Program, Denver, CO Clinical Psychology Intern Worked with deaf and hard of hearing children, adolescents, and adults in school, outpatient, and community mental health settings. Responsibilities included conducting assessments, therapy sessions, program development, and outreach under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. Participated in Individualized Education Plan meetings, providing feedback regarding clients emotional and behavioral functioning. With a licensed psychologist, co-led psychoeducational group for young children with high functioning Autism and

Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center Outpatient Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program, Chicago, IL Therapy Practicum Student Worked with deaf and hard of hearing children and adolescents in school and outpatient settings. Responsibilities included conducting therapy sessions and outreach under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. Coordinated 2 weekly therapy groups for deaf school-aged children and adolescents in a public school setting. Children in the younger group included hyperactive and inattentive 3 rd graders. The older group was boys in need of assistance with social skills, coping skills, and ways to deal with inattentiveness. Conducted intake assessments on deaf children, adolescents, adults, and their families. Participated in Individualized Education Plan meetings, providing feedback regarding clients emotional and behavioral functioning. Mental Health and Deafness Resources, Northbrook, IL Diagnostic Practicum Student Worked with deaf and hard of hearing children and adolescents in residential treatment center and inpatient hospitalization settings. Testing responsibilities included scoring, interpreting, report writing, and multiaxial assessment under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. Coordinated weekly group therapy for school-aged children in a residential treatment center with other students. Children in the group included both residential and day students. The Sharing Place, Salt Lake City, UT Volunteer/Intern Facilitated processing with a complicated grief group of children. Responsibilities included designing activities, supervision, and use of reflection skills.
