Termination of the agreement In the event of unilateral termination, a notice by the end of November of the preceding academic year will be given. Neither the European Commission nor the National Agencies can be held responsible in case of a conflict. F. Information 1. Visa The sending and receiving institutions will provide assistance, when required, in securing visas for incoming and outbound mobile participants, according to the requirements of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education. 7 Inter-institutional agreement Annex I: CH FRIBOUR01 University of Fribourg Articles C. to F. C. Recommended language skills The sending institution, following agreement with the receiving institution, is responsible for providing support to its nominated candidates so that they can have the recommended language skills at the start of the study or teaching period: Receiving institution Optional: Subject area Language of instruction 1 Language of instruction 2 Recommended language of instruction level SMS STA CH FRIBOUR01 All German French B1 B2 The official teaching languages of the University are French and German. A few lectures taught in English are offered but mainly at Master s level; they hardly exist at the Bachelor s level. The Faculty of Science requires English in addition to French and German. The Master in European Business is entirely taught in English. The Faculty of Law offers between 4 and 5 courses in English at Master s level. Please consult the course catalogue where the languages of instruction are indicated for each course: Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences: All the other Faculties: D. Additional requirements There are no general additional requirements but depending on the application of the student and the learning agreement special requirements can be asked for. The University of Fribourg can host students and staff with special needs on individual request. Please contact the International Relations Office as early as possible. E. Calendar 1. The receiving institution will send its decision within 5 weeks after the application deadline. 3. A Transcript of Records will be issued by the receiving institution no later than 5 weeks after the assessment period has finished at the receiving HEI. 4. Termination of the agreement: In the event of unilateral termination, a notice of at least one academic year has to be given. This means that a unilateral decision to discontinue the exchanges notified to the other party by 1 September 20XX will only take effect as of 1 September 20XX+1. 8 F. Information 1. Grading systems of the institutions At the University of Fribourg 1 ECTS is equivalent to 25 to 30 hours of academic work. The ECTS measure the total work load required for a course/seminar including lectures attendance, reading, paper writing and personal work outside the courses.
