5 Course Descriptions Science 2.0 Science, technology, engineering, mathematics (S.T.E.M.) based course that features PASCO data collection interfaces. Lab work consists of the engineering behind technologies such as renewable resources and medical interventions

6 Course Descriptions Genetics & Pathology This course takes an in depth look at genetic engineering, cellular basis of inheritance, the human genome, and genetic disorders. This course will also examine the body s defense and response against the acquirement of infections diseases caused by viruses and bacteria as well as autoimmune diseases.

7 Course Descriptions Human Anatomy & Physiology This course provides a deep understanding of the gross anatomy of the human body by indentifying the structural components of the various body systems and describing how they interact. This course will also examine the physiological aspects of the human body identifying the biochemical pathways and enzymatic interactions that help maintain homeostasis within the body.

8 Course Descriptions Forensic Science This course provides students with the opportunity to apply the principals of biological, chemical, and physical science and technological practices through inquiry based settings. Major themes of study in this course are pathology, anthropology, odontology, ballistics, trace evidence, biological fluids, DNA, fingerprints, and impression evidence.

9 Course Descriptions Neuroscience This course will provide students with a foundation for understanding of how the nervous system functions in humans. Focal points for the course will include the neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, and pathways involved in the somatic and autonomic nervous systems including both sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions as well as the brain.

10 Course Descriptions Sports Medicine & Athletic Injury This course will examine the cause of common injuries including prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and medical interventions. During this course students will have an opportunity to earn certifications in CPR/AED and First Aid. Students will also be required to complete a research project.

11 Course Descriptions Senior During this course students will engage in real world experiences through internships. Students will complete weekly journals and a final culminating presentation to faculty and students of the MSA. Teachers will meet with students once a week during their internships to hold discussions on a variety of professional practices including summaries of their weekly educational experiences.
