(HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY) ADMISSION NOTIFICATION, 2015 Applications are invited from Physiology (Honours) students passed in 2015 and 2014 from any University (UGC recognized) in India for admission to M.Sc. Course in Human Physiology, Session (Semester System) affiliated to University of Calcutta. Application forms are available in the College Website: Download the form, print the form and fill up the relevant details. Apply in prescribed format with necessary testimonials and Bank Draft of Rs. 300/-(Rupees Three hundred only) in favour of Serampore College P.G. Courses payable at Serampore within Applications by hand will be accepted only and must reach to the Office, Serampore College, Serampore, Hooghly between 11 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. on all working days (upto 1 p.m. on Saturday) within Submitting applications does not qualify one for admission.

2 Page 2 of 5 SELECTION PROCEDURE AND ADMISSION RULE 1. 60% of total seat be earmarked for CU students only. This 60% of total seat be termed as Category A seat All the current year CU Physiology Honours Graduate will be considered in Category A. SELECTION OF CANDIDATE IN CATEGORY A Admission is strictly in order of merit, judged on the basis of percentage of marks secured in Physiology Honours and in case of a tie, the aggregate of marks in general subjects are taken into consideration. Important dates for CATEGORY A students: Publication of merit list (Category A) Admission from Merit List - I(Category A) Publication of Merit List II (Category A) 20/07/2015 at 3pm 22/07/2015 (11am 3pm) 22/07/2015 at 3pm 24/07/2015 (11am 3pm) Admission from Merit List II (Category A) Merit list III (Category - A) will be published if seat remains vacant 2. Rest 40% of Total seat be earmarked for both Non-CU and CU candidates. This 40 % of Total seat be termed as Category B seat. CU Physiology Honours Graduate candidates of the preceding year will be considered in Category B only. SELECTION OF CANDIDATE OF CATEGORY B WILL BE MADE ON THE BASIS OF ENTRANCE TEST

3 Page 3 of 5 Entrance test for Non-CU and CU applicants for selection in 40% of total seats will be held on 25/07/2015. Full Marks: 100, Time: 12.30pm to 1.30pm Venue: Department of Physiology, Serampore College Applicants have to produce receipt part of application form at the time of entrance test. Entrance test will be of One (1) hour duration (full marks 100). Number of questions will be of 50 and each question should have four options of answers of which one will be correct answer. For each correct answer scoring will be +2 marks and negative marking of -0.5 marks for each wrong answer. If a candidate does not attempt or left question(s) in the Entrance test, there will be 0 mark. During the examination you will be provided with a Question paper and an answer OMR sheet. Please use only Black ball pen to mark your answers. Final selection for 40% of such seat will be based on percentage of marks obtained in 3 Years Physiology Honours Course and percentage of marks obtained in the Entrance Test. If there is a tie of marks, the candidate with higher percentage of marks obtained in the Entrance Test will be placed in higher position in the merit list than the other candidates. 3. Existing SC(22%)/ST(6%)/PC(3%) reservation will be followed separately in both Category A and Category B students. 4. If sufficient suitable number of SC/ST/PC candidates are not available in Category A the same may be filled up by the other Category B and vice versa. 5. All Non-CU applicants have to appear in the Entrance Test and will be placed in the Merit List of Category B only. 6. Any CU applicant may or may not appear in Entrance Test where Entrance Test is not mandatory. If any CU applicant does not appear in the entrance test where Entrance Test is not mandatory then the applicant will be placed in the Merit List of Category A only.

4 Page 4 of 5 7. If any CU applicant does appear in the Entrance Test then they will be placed in the Merit List of both Category A and B. 8. In case where Entrance Test is mandatory for both CU and Non-CU candidates, the candidate will not be in the Merit List if he or she fails to appear in the Entrance Test. 9. If an applicant got chance in different positions in both Category A and B, the higher preference will be opted to the applicant. 10. If an applicant got chance in same preference from both category A and B and got admission, his or her seat will be treated as Category A. 11. Incomplete Forms are liable to be rejected. 4. Photocopies of Registration Certificate of University of graduation (Candidates other than University of Calcutta should submit migration certificate).
