RECOMMENDATION: Authorization to approve new contracts and modify existing contracts. GRANTOR/OR NEW A FIO I-A-D Grant Modification National Science Foundation (NSF) September 1, 2012 to August 31, 2014 $1,188,989 No-cost extension of end date to August 31, 2015 As presented in FIO and I-A-D, CCSF received funding from the National Science Foundation for the Bio-Link Next Generation Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Center for Biotechnology and Life Science, a National Center that focuses on enhancing and expanding biotechnology technician programs throughout the nation. CCSF received a no-cost extension of the grant to August 31, 2015 to allow the program to completely utilize the funds to complete the deliverables. 2 GRANTOR/OR NEW B New Grant National Science Foundation (NSF) September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2017 $3,758,957 CCSF has received a new grant from the National Science Foundation for the continued operation of the Bio-Link Next Generation Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Center for Biotechnology and Life Science. The ATE Center is a national center that focuses on enhancing and expanding biotechnology technician programs throughout the nation. Funding source: National Science Foundation; Fund # Indirect rate: 29.5% C II-B-C Continued Funding Children s Council of San Francisco (confirmation received July 25, 2014) $25,000 Elaine Johnson/Wanda Blake As presented in II-B-C, the CCSF Child Development & Family Studies Department received continued funding from the Children s Council of San Francisco to continue to address the demonstrated need for professional development and training opportunities for a diverse early childhood workforce. These funds support the provision of classes and advising for the early childhood workforce in San Francisco. 3 GRANTOR/OR NEW D VI-E-B Grant Renewal California Department of Education The Office of Food and Nutrition Services for the Child Care Food Program October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015 $160,000 As presented in VI-E-B, CCSF s Child Development and Family Studies Department will receive funding from the California Department of Education, the Office of Food and Nutrition Services for the Child Care Food Program to offer a special food service program for supplemental meals for children enrolled in the Infant/Toddler and State Preschool programs. The grant was renewed for October 1, 2014 to September 30, Funding source: CA Department of Education; Fund # Indirect rate: 15% E II-B- 89-E Grant Modification First Five San Francisco Children and Families Commission, Preschool of All $105,241 Grant increased by $66,454 $171,695 Terry Hall/Kathleen White As presented in II-B-89-E, the CCSF Child Development and Family Studies Department will receive funding from the First Five San Francisco, Children & Families, Preschool for All to support and enhance the state preschool program services. Funding source: California Community Colleges Chancellor s Office Nursing Education Program; Fund #TBA Indirect rate: 4% Terry Hall/Maureen Noonan I Continuing Grant California Community Colleges Chancellor s Office $61,187 CCSF s Registered Nursing Department received funding from the California Community Colleges Chancellor s Office of Nursing Education to support the expansion of the nursing program for final semester students (graduating Fall 14). This grant will restore enrollment to 50 students per semester for FY12-13 cohorts and support retention and success by students in the program. MESA s approach is a student-centered model, where knowledge and information are personalized and contextualized, and strategies for students to optimize their learning are emphasized.
