Proposing Jesus Christ to teens and young adults and calling them forth as missionary disciples of the new millennium, capable of going out into the world with joy, like Mary, to witness to the love of God and to serve the needs of the Church and the world daily. Mission Jeunesse-Youth Ministry organises 4 gatherings throughout the year for youth ministers of the diocese of Montreal. These gatherings are an occasion to reinforce our network of leaders and to form a more dynamic and a more missionary community for youth. H3H 10AM-2PM Rise Up is a conference for young adults (aged 18-35) hosted by Catholic Christian Outreach, a Canadian university student movement but Rise Up is more than a conference. It exists to motivate and inspire leaders for the renewal of the world. December 28, January 1st, 2016 Corpus Christi is a Catholic feast celebrated on the Thursday or in Canada as well as in some countries, the Sunday following Trinity Sunday (i.e 60 days following Easter). The official name of the celebration is the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ. During every Eucharist the Lord invites us to His table. He speaks to us; he feeds us and quenches our thirst. Bread, our daily food, becomes His body, bread of Life. Wine which rejoices the heart becomes blood shed for the multitude, sign of the new covenant with God and all humanity. It is an opportunity for young people to celebrate our faith in Jesus Christ and our joy of being sons and daughters of a God who loves us very much, while being living witnesses of His love! July 25-31, 2016 Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy Mt 5:7 The International World Youth Days is a week-long Catholic spiritual pilgrimage in which young pilgrims from all over the world gather to share their faith and celebrate Jesus Christ. During this pilgrimage, the young pilgrims partake in a variety of activities, such as: praying, singing, watching concerts and theatre performances, faith sharing, liturgy, catechesis, vigil and community service. The International World Youth Days conclude with a closing mass presided by the Holy Father. For over 20 years, this initiative by Saint John Paul II transforms the lives of generations of youth and allows renewal of the Church. Want to know more about WYD? 5 FAITH ENRICHMENT AND ACCOMPANIMENT Here are a series of meetings for young adults who desire to take some time to discern God's plan for their lives and to receive Christian formation that will give them some direction in today's world. Formation, which takes places over the span of a year, includes several daylong sessions and one or two retreats. The program includes time for prayer and sharing, teachings and testimonies. Teachings are on self-identity, vocation, teachings from Scripture, marriage, the Theology of the Body, etc. This program is offered in French only, in partnership with the Société du Christ Seigneur du Centre Leunis. 6 FAITH ENRICHMENT AND ACCOMPANIMENT (con nued) The itinerary chosen explores our Christian identity and mission by visiting the places sanctified by the presence of Jesus of Nazareth. Biblical readings and meditations at each Holy Place will make Holy Scripture come alive and help us to explore and deepen our understanding of Jesus' life, death and resurrection. This is an opportunity for young adults to walk where God walked on earth, following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ in hopes of increasing our determination and courage to be more conformed to HIM and live more confidently as disciples in the world today. Mission Jeunesse YM in collaboration with Spiritours prepares the itinerary where prayer and personal reflection is given priority. This trip is not for those interested in simple sightseeing, commercial tourism of any kind or activities incompatible June-July 2017 (to be confirmed) The beautiful landscape of the Way of St. James to Santiago de Compostella is a historic route that pilgrims from around the world have been traveling for over 1200 years. The pilgrimage is an exercise in physical, mental and spiritual endurance. The pilgrim is able to experience a growth that guides them to a better understanding of themselves and a little of the serenity and peace that awaits them at the end of their road. In collaboration with Spiritours, the Montreal Diocesan Youth Ministry team offers you the chance to make this pilgrimage in the traditional/ historical way: Sleeping in pilgrim shelters or hostels, carrying all of your necessities (an average of 20 km per day). In order to maximize the benefit of the experience and to allow others the same, pilgrims are encouraged to walk in solitude and silence at their own speed. The itinerary has been assembled by experts in the field. You will also benefit from a competent guide who knows the "Camino de Santiago", who speaks Spanish and who will encourage spiritual dialogue and reflection. This pilgrimage will be shared with a small group of pilgrims (between 8 and 15) who are looking for growth and interior direction in the same manner as you. In addition, preparatory and information gatherings prior to departure will help you to better ready yourself for the physical, mental and spiritual journey.
