Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) MVH has a Level III NICU, the highest availability of services an infant can receive. Here s What We Offer Your Patients A risk assessment by phone prior to the actual appointment A screening when your patient meets the nurse practitioner for a personal history review, family history, review of previous medical imaging and clinical breast exam Genetic counseling by a certified genetic counselor regarding family history and genetic testing for BRCA1 and BRCA2 inherited gene alterations (which have been linked to hereditary breast cancer) Education on various topics such as breast screenings, self-breast exams, lifestyle modifications, and familial ramifications A support group for high-risk women offering networking and education Long-term follow-up care regarding ongoing breast health needs What Makes Us Unique Our staff is comprised of a nurse practitioner, a genetic counselor, breast cancer navigators/coordinators and a breast surgeon.
