Kandahar Airfield (KAF) as the theatre main Airport of Debarkation (APOD) is the key node for distribution of CIS material to the RC South and RC West. This one story rectangular building will have approximate overall dimensions of 30 m x 20 m (600 m2) with a clear height of 6m to allow operation of mechanical load handling equipment. The floor level shall be 30 cm above surrounding surface area. The building will have a 17 m2 secure office for 4 personnel, second office, workshop and restroom for 6 personnel. In front of the building has to be building two roofs left and right side to cover the heavy equipment (10 x 8m with a high of lowest point 4 m). The area has to be fenced 2,5 m high, including gates.

Structures shall be constructed of a K Span style construction with stem walls unless otherwise indicated. This project is for the expansion of the existing Afghan Air ce (AAF) facilities at Shindand Air Base to accommodate increased use by the AAF both in terms of aircraft and personnel. The intent of Central Utilities project is to increase power and sewer capacity to support the Afghan Army and Air ce garrisons on the west side of the Shindand Air Base. Design and construction of new waste water system and a Prime Power plant with medium voltage distribution to include service to RMTC, Shindand Phase 1, Shindand Phase 2, 2nd CDO Kandak, 4th SF Kandak, 207th Corps Training Area, Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems. In ATCALS project, the contractor installs infrastructure and infrastructure requirements only for government furnished and installed Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS) equipment and Navigation Aids (NAVAIDs). The infrastructure support includes, but is not limited to all runway navigational and control lighting conduit runs, manholes/hand holes, airfield lighting and control vault with back up generation, concrete equipment pads for NAVAIDS, NAVAID equipment shelters and power and communication conduit infrastructure connecting control tower to airfield NAVAID sites and airfield lighting vault.

The new CIS Facility design provides a RC structure building, two stories height, appropriately hardened to meet the specified threat and compliant with safety and fire standard requirements. The building footprint measures about 1,150 square meters.

20 Project Number # 40 Simon Bolivar International Airport Pavement Renovation Project Caracas, Venezuela Client/Owner: Venezuelian Government SUMMA Client POC: [email protected] $1M Feb 2012 April 2012 Runway, Parallel Taxiway, Ladder Taxiways, Aprons This is a pavement renovation and expansion project and it includes 2x 3,500 m long Runway, 2,850 m long Parallel Taxiway, Ladder Taxiways and Aprons. Since the air traffic increases daily, existing pavements are about to finish their lifetime. There are visible deterioration of the existing pavements, both asphalt and concrete. Existing drainage structures do not function at all. All the pavements and drainage structures will be renewed. Design follows ICAO and FAA standards.

Supporting facilities include electrical and mechanical infrastructure, water and sewage connections, information systems infrastructure, access roads, walks and drainage.

22 Project Number # 38 Runway Repair Manas AB, Manas Province, Krygyzstan Client/Owner: USACE SERKA Client POC: [email protected] $18M Feb 2012 Runway Airfield Lighting The purpose of this project is to repair the existing runway at the Transit Center at Manas International Airport, Kyrgyzstan, in 2 phases while maintaining flight operations at all times. Phase 1 reconstructs the west end of the runway and part of the concrete turnaround area. Phase 2 reconstructs the east end of the runway. Work includes demolition and replacement of the existing concrete pavement, excavation, site preparation, airfield lighting, airfield painting, and all necessary work for a complete and usable facility.

Supporting facilities include site preparation, paving, walks, information systems, electric, water distribution systems.

This facility will house approximately 3,000 personnel consisting of trainees and staff. The RPTC is an ANP Training Establishment including 40 buildings, parking areas, all utilities and other infrastructure.

(1) Strategic Airlift Apron : A medium load (C 5 or equivalent), PCC apron with connecting taxiways and shoulders. Work also includes pavement markings, grounding points, utilities (power and electrical connections) and other necessary site improvements. (2) Helicopter Apron : A medium load, PCC apron, connecting taxiways and shoulders for rotary winged aircraft. Work will also include pavement markings, grounding points, aircraft shelters, utilities (including but not limited to power and electrical connections), and other necessary site improvements.

Joint Services Academy Legal Branch School Religious and Cultural Affairs School The required facilities are designing and constructing Life Support Area (LSA), buildings, roads, utilities, tie in for approximately 4,000 personnel to include; barracks with shower/latrine/ablution and storage facilities, classroom buildings, a campus multi purpose building with HQ offices, electrical distribution systems and tiein to existing power plant, sanitary sewer collection system tie in to existing lines, tie in to existing water lines and distribution system; and tie into sand expand the road network inside the compound.

Major facilities : There are eleven major structures associated with the Theater Vehicle Maintenance Facility including two Vehicle Maintenance Buildings, two Administration Buildings, a CE/MHE Building, a Robotics/Shop Stock Storage Building, a T.A.R.P./Paint Building, a Fire Pump House, a Paint Booth, a Vehicle Wash Station and a T.A.R.P. Storage Shed. Vehicle Maintenance and Administration are joined into a single structure. The CE/MHE, Robotics/Shop Stock Storage and T.A.R.P./Paint Building form a single large complex.

Supporting facilities are, airfield pavement markings, grounding points and tie downs, prefabricated aircraft protective revetment system, electrical generators and distribution system, water and sewage distribution system, miscellaneous site improvements and drainage.

The project includes all connecting taxi lanes, shoulders, aircraft shelters, site improvements, pavement markings, tie down/grounding, utilities and all other necessary site improvements. Expeditionary Fighter Shelters Project Number CMBA The Contractor constructs two 1,050 m 2 expeditionary fighter shelters for conducting minor field maintenance on deployed aircraft. Work includes pavements, fire protection system, supporting and other necessary site improvements. The shelters are expeditionary fabric type. Aviation Operations and Maintenance Facilities Project Number CMBA The scope of work for this project entails developing an aircraft maintenance facility to support fighter aircraft operations. The Contractor constructs a 2,400 m 2 aviation and operations facility for flight line maintenance. Work includes pavements, supporting infrastructure and other necessary site improvements. Work includes a parking area, roadways connecting other areas, and bus loops at the terminal. The primary facility is the secure RSOI building, accommodated within a 2,400 m 2 pre engineered building (PEB). It is designed to accommodate American, British, and very important personnel (VIP) in a secure and functional manner. The supporting facilities include a parking area for vehicles and buses. A service road is included to connect the facility with the strategic airlift apron expansion and the cargo handling area. Utilities include a point source for power created by a generator farm. Site improvements include drainage and site leveling and grading. Cargo Handling Area Project Number CMBA The project consists of a 35,000 m 2 paved cargo handling yard, cargo warehouse with utilities, lighting, site improvements, drainage, and fire suppression. The primary facility consists of an 1,000 m 2 cargo warehouse with offices for the United States (U.S.) personnel and operations and large paved handling yard. The supporting facilities include fencing and gates suitable for trucks, a fire suppression system, and high mast lighting. Utilities include point source power generation, security fence, site improvements, and drainage.

The parallel taxiway extension is a 1350m (900m Base Bid Length+450m Optional Bid Length) addition to the existing runway in north south direction. In this case, the existing runway is planned to be used as parallel taxiway and connected to the new runway. The new taxiway extension is 28m wide and has 15m paved shoulders. It matches the geometry and construction of the existing runway in all aspects. The existing runway shoulder are only 3m wide but is extended to 15 m wide in accordance with the RFP. Three connecting taxiways are the facilities which are aiming to connect the new parallel taxiway to new runway. These are 23m wide and have 15m paved shoulders. The new runway is 3500m long runway. It is 46m wide and has 15m paved shoulder and 15m wide unpaved shoulder. It is located on north south direction and parallel to taxiway extension. The direction of the new runway is that is the same as the existing runway. The strategic ramp has approximately SM plan area and accommodates two C 5 or AN 124 aircraft and 4 C 130 aircraft. It is located west of existing runway and connected to existing runway and parallel taxiway extension with two access taxiways. There is 15 meter wide paved shoulder on the perimeter of the apron and the access taxiways. The rotary wing parking apron has approximately SM plan area and accommodates 15 CH47/CH53 aircraft. It is located east of new runway and connected to new runway with two access taxiways. Also there is a connection road which is located at the center of east edge of the apron. It provides a connection to circulation road that is a part of this project. There are 7.5 wide paved shoulders on the perimeter of the apron and the access taxiways. In addition, there area circulation road and access roads in order to provide access to the facilities for new and future planned aprons. The circulation road is passing through the perimeter of the camp on the south of the airbase and then runs parallel to the new runway and provide access to the aprons connecting to the new

54 runway. There is a new fence line installed at the south, east and north side of the facilities for security requirement. There is a temporary perimeter road running parallel to the new fence line in order to provide access to the LSA camp and Batch Plant that are on located on the east of the new runway. The project access has been planned to be at the entrance of the south side of the Batch Plant.
