2 End-to-End Systems Review and Analysis SUMMARY OF SERVICE Data Centers are the factories for IT services. Whether you are implementing new technologies such as cloud or mobile computing, virtualization, or simply wanting to assess your Data Center capacity and reliability. It is imperative that you fully understand the impact that your physical infrastructure has on your IT environment. The function and performance of your Data Centers depends on a complex interrelationship between cooling optimization, power management, space utilization and high-speed data transmission, all of which are essential to getting the maximum performance and uptime from your critical systems and applications. Service Includes: Data Center Capacity, Equipment health and Uptime Evaluation Data Center Equipment health, Power and Thermal Analysis Data Center Energy Efficiency Assessment The assessment methodology is based on the ten domain approach, which provides a complete picture of the datacenter in its service content. The ten Data Center domains, are 1) Architecture, 2) Mechanical Systems, 3) Electrical Systems, 4) Fire Systems, 5) Environmental Monitoring Systems, 6) Physical Security Systems, 7) Network Physical Infrastructure, 8) Management Tools, 9) Operating Process, and, 10) Management Process. ig2 Group Inc. offers a comprehensive suite of physical infrastructure assessments that helps you unravel the complexity of the Data Center challenges and provides the best foundation for new initiative. Engagements are typically four (4) days to four (4) weeks, depending on the complexity and service requirements. APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY ig2 Group Inc. approach to address client s site assessment is based on framework and accompanying capabilities to address client s objectives and to produce the required deliverables. DATA CENTER CAPACITY, EQUIPMENT HEALTH AND UPTIME EVALUATION Focuses on understanding the overall health of your Data Center. It provides a thorough assessment of the seven physical domains of the datacenter infrastructure. Included in this service is a report that outlines your physical infrastructure s readiness to support current and future needs. A benchmark comparison to Uptime Tier standards and possible specific Data Center domains compliance with industry standards and best practices. The end result is an up-to-date reliable information that enables you to make informed decisions of your current Data Center operations and prepare your physical infrastructure to support future technology deployments.

5 Uptime Assessment DATA CENTER POWER AND THERMAL ANALYSIS Power and cooling are the most important aspect of a Data Center and critical to service sustainment. In most Data Center power there are eight components to critical power distribution and conditioning. This evaluation looks at all of the stages, to ensure there are resilience and capacity in the power delivery stream (electrical) and heat removal stream (mechanical). It also ensure the Data Center is capable of sustaining critical load and growth expectation. Increasing power densities and space limitations has made cooling more complex. Many of the problems that contribute to inefficient thermal management are easily overlooked. This includes equipment efficiency, performance and settings. In this assessment, the entire cooling plant is evaluated from the air handling equipment and distribution ducts or floors to the setting on the HVAC and/or CRAC equipment The service consultant will provide a comprehensive report that will make recommendations for changes to maximize efficiency include: The assessment and analysis of the existing electrical efficiency in the data center The breakdown of losses into power, cooling, and lighting losses The breakdown of the cooling system losses into Computer Room Air Conditioners Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAC/CRAH), humidification and outdoor heat rejection losses The breakdown of the power system losses and power distribution Detailed recommendations to improve the efficiency of the Data Center DATA CENTER ENERGY AND GREEN EFFICIENCY ASSESSMENT Faced with rising operations and energy costs in Ontario, Data Center professionals are being challenged with the need to reduce energy usage and implement energy savings initiatives. These initiatives must also balance the need to maximize the power, space, and cooling capacities of their facilities. ig2 Group energy and green efficiency practice is focused on using less energy and less materials in the delivery of datacenter Services. Building upon baseline assessments of power distribution efficiency, and cooling capacity at the data center room level, the services expand to include the analysis of the power and cooling chain to determine PUE and DCIE at a given time or on an ongoing basis with dynamic measurements that provide continual analysis and monitoring. Optional tool are available for Energy Optimization in the Data Center Cabinet, this includes a data center infrastructure Management tools (DCIMROVER TM ) with the capability of monitor, analyzing and controlling power capacity, ensures readiness for future growth while understanding how efficiently power is being utilized.. Optional thermal analysis deep-dive: During the onsite inspection, IG2 Group uses the airflow, air pressure and temperature readings of your Data Center. From this information we construct a virtual model of your facility using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling. The CFD model allows us to assess current thermal conditions that degrade cooling efficiency and identify specific root causes of inefficient thermal management, such as hot spots, insufficient airflow, air recirculation and improper equipment layout. From this, recommendations are made to optimize cooling performance and provide cost savings opportunities.
6 Data center Greening initiatives item Activity 1 Data Center 10- domains evaluation and infrastructure characterization Description Inventory and record the operational characteristics of the electrical infrastructure including: Site Structure, Space and Layout Utility input UPS & Power Distribution Units (PDU) Static Switches Automatic Transfer Switches Fire Suppressant System Environment monitoring system (temperature, humidity, dust, water, smoke) Security System (Door locks, cameras and personnel) Inventory and record the operational characteristics of the cooling infrastructure including: Chillers Dry Cooler, Cooling Towers, economizers CRAC/CRAH Air distribution systems Heat rejection systems Pumps Humidifiers Operating Tools Others as required Identify Data Center power, cooling or facilities infrastructure that limit efficiency or reduces operational effectiveness of the data center Inventory and record data on specific concerns, unusual conditions or other issues identified by data center operations. 2 Critical Power Using the Data Center one-line diagram, creates a list of all measurements required to accurately characterize the power use of the data center infrastructure elements Instrument and measure power flows on all required equipment and systems without Interruption of the circuits, according to the measurement plan Identify and collect data from the existing measurement systems, if available 3 Gaps Analyze Data Center site, facility and infrastructure and identify conditions that adversely affect system efficiency, including: Space, Power, network and cooling Security and operations Utility and backup power input, UPS Power Distribution Units (PDU) Static Switches
