1 Philip L. Simpson, PhD The PCA/ACA has proven to be a cherished home for many scholars of popular culture at all stages of their careers, including me. Beginning as a graduate doctoral student in 1994, I have attended and presented my scholarly work at the national Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association Conference (PCA/ACA) every year since then. I have also been involved at the PCA/ACA national leadership level in one way or another every year since I have served the membership as Area Chair (in three different areas, 1997-present), member of the editorial board of the Journal of Popular Culture (2003-present), Member-at-Large on the PCA governing board ( ), PCA Vice President ( ), PCA President ( ), and most recently member of the Endowment Board (2011-present). I bring strong leadership experience and skills to all my leadership roles. As provost and chief campus academic officer at Eastern Florida State College in Titusville, Florida, I work congenially with staff and faculty in many diverse academic disciplines. I manage institutional budgets and resources under tight economic circumstances. With this leadership background, I seek to carry forward the principles embodied in the organization s mission since its founding by the Brownes. I will carry forward the leadership vision to reach an even broader audience of popular culture scholars through technology and leveraged partnerships with like-minded scholarly organizations. Finally, I will carry forward the principles of integrity, inclusiveness, open collaboration, and respect for all members viewpoints. Therefore, I hope you will consider me for the office of Vice-President/President Elect.
