Charlie is a 1989 graduate of Goshen High School. He also attended Lurleen B. Wallace State Jr. College, Auburn University, and John M. Patterson Jr. College. He is pastor of Rockwest Missionary Baptist Church, Goshen, Alabama where he has served for 8 years. He also serves as County Commissioner for Crenshaw County where he has served for 11 years. He is employed as a Loan Officer for First Citizen Bank in Hayneville, Alabama. He is the son of Pastor and Mrs Charlie Sankey Sr. He has two siblings, a brother and a sister. In 2003 until the present William has served as President & CEO of First Citizens Bank. The bank was a one branch operation until 2010 when it expanded into a 5 branch operation sprinkled over 3 counties; Butler, Crenshaw and Lowndes counties. William W. He was named Citizens of The Year in 2010 by the Crenshaw County Chamber of Commerce. William and his wife Neva have two daughters Samantha and Chelsea.
2 John D. Harrison Superintendent State of Alabama Banking Department Suite 680 Montgomery, AL Mr. John D. Harrison was named Superintendent of Banks for the State of Alabama Banking Department on May 15, 2005, and was reappointed by Governor Robert Bentley in December 2010 to continue to serve in this position. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Harrison served as Director for the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs and is a former four-term mayor of Luverne, Alabama. Prior to his appointment as Superintendent of Banks, John assisted in starting and operating a small community bank in John has been owner and president of Crenshaw Land and Timber Company for over 35 years, and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Alabama Forestry Association Forest Fund. He was a partner and vice president of C&H Trucking Co., Inc. and owner of Glenwood Woodyard, Inc. from 1976 to In 2011, Mr. Harrison was honored by the Alabama Independent School Association s Hall of Fame. He received the Luverne Kiwanis Club s George F. Hixon Award in 2002, and the Leadership Alabama, Class VI, in In 1992, he was honored as the Troy Alumnus of the Year, and was named Citizen of the Year by the Luverne Crenshaw County Chamber of Commerce in In 1967, he graduated from Troy University with a double major in Business Administration and Marketing, and has served on the school s Board of Trustees since Mr. Harrison also currently serves on the Troy University Business Advisory Council, Luverne Emmaus Cemetery, and is a member of the Luverne Kiwanis Club, the Crenshaw County Rodeo Committee, the Crenshaw County Saddle Club, and the Crenshaw County Heart Association. Mr. Harrison enjoys hunting, fishing, and is an avid spectator of high school and college sports. He and his wife, Barbara, attend Faith Church in Florence, Alabama and have five children: Kelly Kelley, Alice Ann Battle, Patricia Stewart, William King, and David King. Thomas Todt Alabama District Director U.S. Small Business Admin. 801 Tom Martin Drive Suite 201 Birmingham, AL Mr. Tom Todt (pronounced tote ) is the District Director for the SBA s Alabama District Office, which is based in Birmingham. He began his duties as District Director in June In his role as District Director, Mr. Todt oversees a professional staff of 11 in the delivery of SBA s Financial Assistance, Entrepreneurial Development, Business Training, Government Contracting and other marketing and outreach programs throughout Alabama s 67 counties. Before his appointment as Alabama District Director, Mr. Todt served as a contractor performing geographic information systems analysis at the Alabama Army National Guard Training Center at Fort McClellan. He is a former US Army Officer, having served for almost twelve years on active duty in armor, military police and personnel administration roles, with duty assignments in Colorado, Texas, Alabama and Germany. His military and civilian awards include the Meritorious Service Medal and the Alabama Commendation Medal. He also has twelve years experience in community and economic development including Manager of Marketing, Research and Economic Development, and later as Executive Vice President of the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce. He was also the Executive Director of the Anniston Retail & Commercial Development Company, Inc. An Anniston native, Mr. Todt is a former small business person, having owned and operated a full service marketing firm in northeast Alabama, as well as working in several sales and marketing positions with small businesses. He holds a Bachelor s Degree in Marketing from the University of Alabama, and is a graduate of the US Chamber of Commerce Institutes for Organization Management. Mr. Todt has served as chair of the State of Alabama Business Education Advisory Committee, a member of the Vocational Education State Courses of Study Committee, and a board member of the Alabama Chamber of Commerce Executives Association.
3 Allen Bowen is the Community and Business Programs Director for USDA Rural Development. He has been with the agency for 6 years. Prior to coming with the agency he worked in commercial banking for 23 years. He was born in Fort Deposit, Alabama and currently resides in Greenville, Alabama. He also, owns and operates his family farm in Crenshaw County. Allen Bowen Program Director Community and Business USDA 4121 Carmichael Road Suite 601 Montgomery, AL He and his wife, Brenda, have been married for 38 years and have two sons, Andy and Matt and daughter Kristie. He is also the very proud grandfather of 4, Ava Grace, Sarah Claire, Anna Beth and Big Jake. He is a graduate of Highland Home High School and Auburn University with a degree in Vocational Agricultural Education. Jerry Ellison retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in April 2004 after twenty-two years of active duty with the Alabama Army National Guard. After his military retirement, he worked for M.T.C.I, a government contractor. Jerry D. Ellison Program Manager, AL-PTAC Alabama Small Business Development Center Network University of Alabama Box Tuscaloosa, Alabama There he served as a business developer and later regional vice president while acquiring a number of skill sets relative to business development and contract management in the U.S. Government contracting arena. Jerry started his own consulting business in 2008 assisting small businesses pursuing government contracting and teaching workshops and seminars in like topics. In the fall of 2012, Jerry was selected to serve as the statewide Program Manager for the Alabama Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) program, a federally and state funded program that provides a variety of assistance to Alabama businesses pursuing state and federal contracts. Jerry holds a Masters Degree in Teaching from Troy University/Montgomery and resides in Shelby County.
4 After thirty years as a private banking professional, W. Howard Wills joined the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs as State Small Business Credit Initiative Coordinator in April of While in banking, Howard produced consistent achievements including: increasing revenues, portfolios and profits by relying on his expertise in business development, relationship building, strategic planning, budgeting, public relations, investments, commercial loans, sales, coaching and management. Howard is also a member of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Council. W. Howard Wills, J.D. State Coordinator Small Business Credit Initiative Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs Mr. Wills received his BA/ Business Administration degree in 1980 from Huntingdon College and his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in 1997 and he is also a licensed insurance producer. He has been a leader in a variety of civic and community organizations and enjoys hunting and fishing. As an employee of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA), Clarence Mann is manager of the Office of Minority Business Enterprise (OMBE). The OMBE reaches out to small minorityand women-owned businesses to identify those that meet the requirements for M/WBE certification. Mr. Mann works directly with the applicant to build a strong certification application package that can withstand the scrutiny of the review and approval process. He provides information on becoming a registered state vendor and makes referrals to other business resource providers. Mr. Mann interacts regularly with other small business-related programs and organizations such as the Alabama Office of Small Business Advocacy (OSBA), Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), Chambers of Commerce and others. 5 Dana Moore serves as Executive Director of Southern Development Council, and joined the company in Prior to joining SDC, she served as a Business Counselor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Small Business Development Center. Dana is a 1988 graduate of Huntingdon College, and is active in the National Association of Development Companies, the Economic Development Association of Alabama, and is a representative to the Alabama Enterprise Zone Advisory Council. Dana Moore Executive Director Southern Development Council 8132 Old Federal Road The Southern Development Council, Inc. (SDC) is a U.S. Small Business Administration Certified Development Company (CDC) founded in Alabama in 1983 as a non-profit. Since that time, SDC has funded over 1100 small business loans and helped their borrowers create over 21,000 jobs. For over five years SDC has been ranked as the SBA s leading provider of fixed asset loans for Alabama businesses. SDC is the only organization of its kind endorsed by Alabama Banking Services, a division of the Alabama Bankers Association. Lisa Riley is the Vice President, Delta Region for Accion Texas Inc., the nation s largest nonprofit, small business micro lender. Riley manages the small business lending and education programs in Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee for Accion Texas. In February 2013, Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley appointed Riley as a member of the Mental Health Board of Trustees, which meets quarterly to advise the commissioner for the Alabama Department of Health. Riley is also the Alabama Legislative Advocate for Autism Speaks. She worked closely with Alabama Senator Cam Ward and Representative Mac McCutcheon to co-author and pass the Riley Ward Act of 2012, requiring health insurance coverage for children with autism in Alabama. Lisa Riley Regional Director ACCION Business Center of Alabama, Inc. 500 Beacon Parkway Birmingham, AL Riley is well established and highly regarded in business and civic circles throughout the state. In addition to having been appointed to this state board, Riley recently was named chair of the Minority Business Council of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama. She serves on the boards of the Autism Society of Alabama, Cornerstone Ministries Inc. and Arts N Autism. She also is a member of the Verner Elementary School PTA in Tuscaloosa. Riley launched operations for Accion in Alabama in January 2012, after a 30-year career in management, research, customer service, and sales for commercial banks. Riley was promoted to Vice President Delta Region in January 2014 after serving as manager for the Delta Region, which has made more than $700,000 in small business loans since its opening.
