2 INTRODUCTION IACT: Industrial Automation and Communication-technology Twente IACT has been making software for industrial use since 1999, sometimes for small machines but also for control and visualization of large processes. Software development takes place in our office in Haaksbergen. Commissioning will be done on-site, usually worldwide. Communication-technology means the linkage of the different parts within the industrial automation. For example the sending of recipe data from a windows-based application to a machine, or linking two completely different (machine) operating systems. IACT operates with a small team, but is grand when it comes down to the knowledge and skills of industrial automation and communication technology. We believe quality and service is the key to customer satisfaction. IACT will the find beauty of a solution in every problem.

4 TRAINING There are many educational institutions and a lot of standard trainings, but IACT will make a difference because it can provide a customized training, depending on your needs. Custom on the job training Training possibilities: The technical or process experience that IACT gained in larger and smaller projects can be transferred to others. 11 PC PROCESSCONTROL Machine- or process control system on a PC. Not implemented with a Soft-PLC, but usually a C# application or (in the old days) Visual Basic with C++. IACT developed its own C# timer, which ensures real-time operation of the control system. Using these techniques, machine control, process control, visualization and data acquisition can be integrated in one system when necessary. NANO TECHNOLOGY Project content: Control software for a textile inkjet printer. This machine is able to color-print up to 40 running meter of textile per minute. 17 ANTIQUES If your software maintenance requires a visit to the old peoples home, you're on the wrong track. Old systems are often very robust, but you often depend on Ebay for spares and replacement parts. Old Soldiers Description: We mention Siemens S5, GE Series 6, Mitsubishi F-series. Often no new but only refurbished parts are available IACT has extensive experience with (semi-) automatic conversion to new systems. 18 OIL AND GAS Habshan Fujairah oil pipeline, also known as Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline (ADCOP), is an oil pipeline in the United Arab Emirates. It starts from the Habshan onshore field in Abu Dhabi and runs to Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman, so there is no need for tanker ships to pass the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. (Wikipedia) IACT developed the control and safety software for 26 pumps in the pipeline through the emirates. 19 IACT develops custom laboratory systems. For coffee, lube oil or airplane parts. LABORATORIES Recording, control and logging Project contents: Laboratory systems are fairly generic; the same demands are found in quite different areas. They also resemble production processes: often the the difference is scale of operation (10 per day instead of 10 per second) or aim of operation (destruction instead of construction). IACT has developed templates for laboratory control systems. Applications were made for the development of coffee concentrate, behaviour of lubrication oil under adverse circumstances and the quality control of airplane parts. 20 ENERGY DISTRIBUTION MONITORING Visualization of the distribution of electricity to critical users, such as hospitals, datacenters.
