1 Page 1 Online Course Provider-Course Assessment Level 1 Students who complete course requirements and a proctored final exam of a Verified Course through edx or a Signature Course through Coursera can apply for Portfolio Assessment credit towards their academic program at Summit University/Baptist Bible Seminary. Students can only receive credit for courses that meet the requirements for their academic program. I. Credits Accepted via Verified/Signature Courses A. Programs edx Verified 1 o Courses completed through the edx Verified Certificate program are for credit through a Verified Course Assessment model. o Students demonstrating learning and complete course requirements and receive a grade of 77% undergraduate and 88% graduate or above on the final exam will receive credit for the course upon submission and approval of the required documentation from the online course provider. Coursera Signature Track 2 o Courses completed through the edx Verified Certificate program are evaluated for credit through a Verified Course Assessment model. o Students demonstrating learning and complete course requirements and receive a grade of 77% undergraduate and 88% graduate or above on the final exam will receive credit for the course upon submission and approval of the required documentation from the online course provider. Other programs may be added to list o Summit University/Baptist Bible Seminary has the option to add other online course providers to the list as they are developed. B. Certificate Based Assessment Level 4 Portfolio Credit via Formal Certificate Based Education Students can receive credit for learning achieved through certificate based learning opportunities. Certificates that have been evaluated by the American Council on Education (ACE) are evaluated by the Registrar s Office and converted to credit hours without additional requirements or cost. Certificates for job training, not evaluated by ACE, will be evaluated by the Registrar s Office and given credit, when national or state standards exist, without additional requirements or cost. If a certificate does not meet these qualifications, the following procedure will be followed to be evaluated for credit. 1. Provide a summary of all areas of knowledge and skills that were acquired as a result of Formal Certificate Based Education Credits awarded based on length of training, validity of issuing organization and Summary of learning document.
