Campers will create and maintain a saltwater aquarium, learn about various marine environments, and explore different types of organisms. This program will have a special focus on Long Island marine ecosystems and the Great South Bay. Hands-on interactions and guest speakers diversify this program and inspire campers to delve into marine biology. An optional field trip specific to this session s subject will be offered. The group will also rehearse at least one song to perform together. Each day will include theatrical and musical warm-ups, exercises and games. The campers in the 5-8 grade session will create much of their own story and make the majority of the decisions, with guidance. They will work to have a script written and songs finalized by the end of the first week (as well as ideas for set, props and costumes), and utilize the second week for rehearsing and putting all pieces together.
