1 BANKURA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE INFORMATION SHEET FOR APPLICANTS FOR ADMISSION TO 1ST YEAR DEGREE COURSE (HONOURS & PASS) SESSION :: Admission to 1st Year Honours & Pass (Science & Arts) Courses will be given strictly on the basis of merit and through online counselling (website: 2. Applicants passing H.S./Equivalent Examination from General Stream course in 2015 are only eligible to apply for admission. Applicants passing Vocational Courses at the HS level are eligible for admission to General Courses (Pass Course) only, not any of the Honours courses. 3. The online admission site of the College has been designed in a users friendly way to help candidates for applying online in a step-by-step fashion. It has two major stages Registration and Admission. For Registration visit Click Online Admission 2015 (write upper corner) Then fill-up form After filling-up click PROCEED Select your choice: Honours / Merit List Subject for Honours Course and/or BA for BA Pass Course BSc for Science Pass Course Click NEXT And click PRINT and take print-out for noting Application ID (DO NOT SUBMIT THIS PRINT OUT TO THE BANK). Again click Online Payment for necessary payment State Bank Collect page will open Click I have read and accepted the terms and conditions stated above and again click Proceed button. Select West Bengal from drop down (click Select State) from State of Corporate/Institution Again Select Educational Institution from drop down (click Select Type) from Type of Corporate/Institution Click Go After filling up necessary information at each stage properly candidate should pay the requisite amount to the college through online payment system (built up in the software), without which the candidature of the candidate will be cancelled. Mode of online payment will be displayed in the software itself and the candidate should choose any one of them. It is important to mention that in all the cases the candidate should note the ONLINE REGISTRATION NUMBER failing which it may be difficult for making bank payment through online process. The same registration number should be used by the candidate for further tracking of his/her candidature at different stages. 4. At the time of counselling Honours and combination subjects will be offered according to the choice of the applicants subject to the availability of seats. In case of applicants with same marks in aggregate, marks in the subject concerned for which admission is sought will be given priority. 5. A provisional merit list of the applicants will be prepared on the basis of two language papers and best three out of four elective subjects in H.S For applicants with only one language subject, the marks in that language paper and best three out of the other elective subjects will be considered for the calculation of percentage. The following subjects will not be considered for the calculation of percentage:

Along with the provisional merit list as mentioned above, a notice will be issued regarding the dates on which the applicants are to appear for counselling. 7. If any applicant finds any sort of mistake in the merit list, he/she is advised to send an e- mail to [email protected]. 8. The full amount of admission fee will be collected immediately after counselling. Failure to deposit the entire amount of admission fee may lead to cancellation of candidature. No request for relaxation of fees or delay in payment will be entertained at the time of admission. 9. On the day of counselling as per notification the applicants will be called in one by one as per the merit list. The applicants or their representatives have to be present at the venue of counselling. Admission will be given provisionally immediately after counselling on the same date. No student will be entertained for counselling (in case of Hons. Courses) if he or she misses the stipulated slot (Morning / Afternoon). If any student appears late (within the stipulated slot) after his / her name is announced for counselling his / her name will be considered for courses available at the time of the candidate s actual appearance for counselling. 10. Eligibility for admission into Honours Streams for all candidates: a) Honours in Physics : Minimum marks in Physics : 45% b) Honours in Electronics : Minimum marks in Physics : 45% c) Honours in Chemistry : Minimum marks in Chemistry : 45% d) Honours in Mathematics : e) Honours in Zoology, Botany & Physiology : Minimum marks in Biology : 45% Minimum marks in English : 45% f) Honours in Economics : g) Honours in English :

Chemistry cannot be offered as a combination subject to Bio Pass students in any circumstances. 12. Undergraduate Courses Bachelor of Arts Honours Subjects The College provides Honours in English, Bengali, Sanskrit, Geography, Political Science, History, Economics, Philosophy and Sociology. Optional Subjects All the above subjects and Physical Education are open to be taken as combination subjects. Bengali and Sanskrit cannot be offered together as combination subjects.
