It is bestowed with extremely rich natural resources and is very wellknown across the globe for its competent human resource. It is imperative that in times to come, this region would have much to contribute in terms of knowledge economy not only to Asia but to the whole world. In this session each country will share their vision for Higher Education and work towards developing a synergy and commonality. This may further lead to sharing and exchange of best practices between the universities of Asian countries, thereby leading to developing the region into a higher education hub. Further, there is a need to create mechanisms wherein universities are incentivized to not only conduct research but also to increase their research output. This session would focus on the successful research collaboration models in the Asian and other global universities and ways and means to leverage on each other s strengths. There will also be deliberations on identifying the specific research areas wherein research output/productivity needs to drastically enhance. The job market is increasingly being redefined by specific skills and higher education system cannot afford to overlook the new realities of the 21st century. This session would focus on ways and means to create an ecosystem that could lead to co-creation and incubation in the universities. The discussion would also entail on how various countries could partner to further the cause of entrepreneurial ecosystem everywhere. This will also facilitate deliberations on various successful models that has led to increase in employability quotient in Asian and other higher educational institutions in the world. There is a serious need to relook at the current faculty recruitment and development policies and develop ways and means to attract top talent, while providing effective motivatin to retain existing resources. Besides, it is widely felt that seamless movement of faculties and students across borders is extremely important and would act as a great enabler in strengthening the quality of higher education institutions of the countries.
