1 PHARMAPICK is an innovative dispensing robotic system designed to fully respond to the logistics requirements in hospital environment both central pharmacy, medicines, medical supplies, consumables and operating theater. Workstation PHARMAPICK presents two independent workstations, each one composed of a set of drawers (from two up to eight), a touch screen computer display and a pick-to-light display to each drawer in service. To ensure security, there can be only one drawer open at a time in each workstation. B. Large Drawers PHARMAPICK incorporates a set of large drawers suitable to goods of large dimensions or fast movers. These large drawers are shared for the two workstations. C. Emergency access doors In the rare event of a system breakdown or power failure, users will never be unattended. PHARMAPICK presents two emergency access doors that can only be accessed by authorized operators, enabling the system to be manually operated like a racking shelving system. D. Non-accessible panel cladding PHARMAPICK is a kind of a vault robotic system. Only authorised users can access the system via workstations. Each module comprises a set of trays, and each tray holds different bins [Unit Loads (ULs)]. Each bin can be subdivided into multiple storage locations depending. The robotic system moves bins from their shelving position up to the workstation and viceversa in an average speed of less 6,5 seconds per bin, enabling the unbeatable speed of over 550 bins per hour. 4 2. Operation Mode PHARMAPICK collects the data from HIS, either replenishment or picking orders. The robotics presents ULs at the independent workstations drawers. Only authorized users can access the system. This feature is particularly interesting for example when it comes to dispense controlled goods such as psychotropic, or when the PHARMAPICK is configured to work as a large dispenser or as a remote storage device while in self-service mode. The system can be increased in storage capacity by adding expansion modules up to a maximum of 12metres (40 ft) wide and 10metres (33 ft) high. The robot s travelling speed allows the delivery of an UL in the workstation drawer on average less than 6,5sec, which means more than 550 bins per hour, enabling a performance of over 700 lines per hour.
