1 3.2Lleaving and taking messages Leaving messages 1. Listen to five voic s for Vanessa at Business Circle Conferencing. Listen again Look at stages 1-7 for leaving messages. Listen to each of the messages and tick the stages each caller follows. Student B: Look at File 3.4 on page Listening Test: Part One The Listening Test has three parts. In this Exam spotlight you will look at Part One. It always consists of three listening texts which are telephone conversations messages on answering machines. In each case you are listening for short answers and filling gaps. There are four gaps per listening. The gapped texts could include forms, notes, invoices or message pads. You always hear each conversation or message twice. You need to listen in particular for information like names, numbers, dates, instructions or deadlines. 1.Study the gaps (1---12) in the forms and notes for the three conversations 3

4 below. Try to predict what kind of information is missing. Is it.a name? a number?.a job title? spelling?.equipment? times, dates? business teens?.other? 2. Now listen to the recording and answer the exam questions. After you have listened once, play the recording again. PART ONE Questions 1-12.You will hear three telephone conversations or messages..write one or two words or a number in the numbered spaces on the notes or forms below.
