11 POTENTIAL INCENTIVES ADA QUALITY JOBS PROGRAM This cash back incentive gives qualifying enrolled companies regular rebates for newly created taxable payroll for five years. Additional incentives may be available for those businesses that offer opportunities to their employees ensuring long-term success and prosperity. AMERICAN INDIAN LANDS TAX CREDITS Because of our unique Native American heritage, all of Pontotoc County (Ada Area) qualifies for special federal tax treatment. Businesses locating or expanding in these areas benefit by accelerated depreciation of investment and by employment tax credits when employing tribal members or their spouses. Oklahoma has the largest percentage of American Indian population in the country and the percentage in the Ada labor pool is 17%. NEW MARKET TAX CREDITS These credits are designed to meet economic development challenges in lower income areas of the community. New allocations are awarded periodically and New Market Tax Credit allocates have raised billions of dollars in lower income neighborhood reinvest. In 2009 alone over $250 million in NMTC allocations were awarded to Community Development Entities operating in Oklahoma. OPPORTUNITY ZONE The Oklahoma Quality Jobs Act and the Oklahoma Small Employer Quality Jobs Act offer specific benefits for companies locating in Census Tract 5002, known as Ada s Opportunity Zone. This list is not exhaustive of state or local incentives. Ada Jobs Foundation will assist interested businesses in identifying and capturing applicable incentives. 11
