Chaplain Phil Harden (second from left) with APMOA members FCI Terminal Island s Leadership Program Visits Federal Court On August 21, FCI Terminal Island staff visited the Roybal Federal Court Building in downtown Los Angeles as part of the institution s leadership training program. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize staff with the entire judicial process: arrest, trial, sentencing, detention, and designation to a Bureau facility. The group, which included Warden Graber and Captain Cottrell, toured the U.S. Marshal s Service processing and detention area, and observed court proceedings. The Honorable Dale S. Fischer, United States District Court Judge for the Southern District of California, spoke with the group and provided a tour of her chambers. FCI Terminal Island leadership class participants with Judge Fischer USP McCreary Hosts Joint Crisis Negotiation Team Training On August 15, USP McCreary hosted USP Lee s crisis negotiation team for annual team certification. The joint training involved several technical exercises, including a mock hostage scenario. The training provided an opportunity for staff from both institutions to improve their skills and develop working partnerships.
