Guidelines:ClinicalPrevention&PopulationHealthCurriculumFrameworkbytheHealthyPeopleCurriculum TaskForceandMaster sdegreeinpublichealthcorecompetencydevelopmentprojectbytheassociationof SchoolsofPublicHeath TheClinicalPrevention&PopulationHealthCurriculumFramework(CPPHCF)isaguidelineforpublichealth educationandcurriculumsetforthbyvarioushealthprofessionals/associationswhoareapartofthehealthy PeopleCurriculumTaskForce. 1 AcademicPharmacyandotherprofessionalschoolswhoaredevelopingpublic healthprogramssuchasthemasterofpublichealth(m.p.h.)degree,shouldalsobeawareoftheassociationof SchoolsofPublicHealth(ASPH)guidelines:MastersDegreeinPublicHealthCoreCompetencyDevelopment Project. 2 AccordingtotheCouncilonEducationinPublicHealth(CEPH)guidelines,thegoalsandprimarylearning objectivesofanm.p.h.programcenteronpreparingindividualstocarryoutbroadpublichealthfunctionsinlocal, state,national,andinternationalsettings. 3 Toaccomplishthis,anM.P.H.curriculumisbaseduponthe AssociationofSchoolsofPublicHealth(ASPH)CoreCompetencyModel. 2 ThismodelincorporatesCEPH competencyrequirementsinfivedisciplinespecificareas(biostatistics,epidemiology,environmentalhealth Science,HealthPolicyandManagement,andSocialandBehavioralSciences)toconstitutethecorecurriculum. Thecorecurriculumisintendedtogiveallstudentsastrongsetoffundamentalskillsthatarenecessaryfor careersinpublichealth.schoolsthatareseekingaccreditationfromcephshouldbeawareoftheseguidelinesor schoolsthathaveorareplanningcertificateprogramsinpublichealth. 1
