1 Matrix Technical Support Mailer 124 Basic steps to configure SIP extensions in ETERNITY NE Dear Friends, This mailer will help you to configure the SIP extensions in ETERNITY NE. Introduction:- Space The SIP extensions function like any normal DKP/SLT extensions of the ETERNITY NE. SIP extension users can make and receive calls to any extension user of ETERNITY and to external numbers over CO, Mobile and VoIP networks depending on the Logical Partition configured in the system. We can register any SIP enabled device like an IP Phone a soft phone, Analog phone Adapter (ATA) as the SIP extension (SIP client) of the ETERNITY NE (SIP server). We can also connect the Matrix Extended IP Phone, SPARSH VP 248 and MATRIX SPARSH MS as SIP extension of ETERNITY NE. The SIP extensions may be registered either over Ethernet WAN or over Wireless WAN (Mobile1/Mobile2) according to your preference and your IP network installation scenario. To enable SIP extensions in ETERNITY NE, VoIP server module must be installed in it. ETERNITY NE supports upto 16 SIP extensions. The first 8 SIP extensions are free with VoIP Server card. To increase the number of SIP extensions to 16 from 8, you will require the IP8 License.

SIP extension users can make and receive calls to any extension user of ETERNITY and to external numbers over CO, Mobile and VoIP networks depending on the Logical Partition configured in the system.

2 Configuration:- First of all in ETERNITY NE, SIP extensions must be enabled in Prerequisites page as shown in the following screen shot. After configuring the SIP extensions in Pre-requisites page, you need to configure access codes for the SIP extensions in Extn. & Feature Codes as shown in the following screen shot.

4 As shown in above screenshot, Enable SIP Extension flag must be enabled to activate the SIP extension in ETERNITY NE. Authentication ID is necessary for registering the SIP extension with the Registrar of the VoIP module. Authentication ID of each SIP extension must be a unique number string of a maximum of 6 digits. Any combination of digits from 0 to 9 with characters * and # are allowed. Authentication Password is the password to be used by the VoIP module s Registrar Server to authenticate the SIP messages received from this SIP extension. You can enter a maximum of 24 digits as password. The valid digits for the password are 0 to 9, *, # and alphabets. After configuring these parameters, you need to submit the page. Now you need to configure the same settings at client side also. For that purpose, let s take an example with SPARSH VP 248. In SPARSH VP 248, the Authentication ID and Password must be configured as configured in ETERNITY NE side. Then SIP Trunk must be enabled and SIP trunk mode must be set as Proxy.

Display Name & Display Field on LCD can be set, whatever you want to show. In Registrar Server Address, you need to configure the IP address of ETERNITY NE. Here it is set as 192.168.51.

In port, in SPARSH VP 248 it is configured as 5060, because the same has been configured in ETERNITY NE. The port related settings can be done in VoIP Port in ETERNITY NE as shown in the following screenshot.
