3 1 Overview The purpose of this configuration guide is to describe the steps needed to configure the Mitel 3300 ICP PBX for proper operation in a SIP Trunking application with the ESBC EdgeMarc. Please note that this guide documents the basic configuration needed in the Mitel 3300 ICP PBX and that the requirements of specific SIP Trunking environments may require modifications to the configuration steps provided in this document. 2 Prerequisites SIP trunking information provided by the VoIP service provider: SIP proxy server IP address or DNS name. Trunking Direct Inward Dial (DID) phone numbers Calls to the trunking DID(s) are forwarded from the service provider to the wide area network (WAN) IP address of the EdgeMarc. There may be a single Pilot phone number used for all inbound calls and/or multiple DIDs depending on the service ordered. SIP authentication credentials (optional) Some SIP trunking service providers require a unique username and password to be supplied for IP PBX registrations and/or SIP signaling using P-Asserted Identity (RFC 3325). 4 3 Network Topology Figure 1 Test Set up The PBX in the above network topology represents the Mitel 3300 ICP PBX that is connected to the LAN port of the EdgeMarc Network Services gateway. 5 4 Description of Basic Operation and Call Flows Basic Call Flow: All LAN phones are connected to the Mitel 3300 ICP PBX. The Mitel 3300 ICP will interface with the service provider using a SIP trunk to the EdgeMarc. Internal calls: Calls between phones on the LAN side of the EdgeMarc/PBX LAN phone -> Mitel 3300 ICP -> LAN phone Outbound calls: Call is initiated by a LAN phone to a WAN phone. LAN phone -> Mitel 3300 ICP <SIP trunk> -> EdgeMarc -> SIP trunk service provider -> WAN phone Inbound call: Call is initiated by a WAN phone to a LAN phone. WAN phone -> SIP trunk service provider -> EdgeMarc -> <SIP trunk> Mitel 3300 ICP -> LAN phone 5 Mitel 3300 ICP PBX Configuration The steps below describe the basic configuration required to enable the Mitel 3300 ICP PBX to use a SIP trunk for inbound and outbound calling, this is assuming the Mitel 3300 ICP is already installed on a Virtual Machine and is ready to be configured. Please refer to the Mitel documentation for other advanced PBX features. The configuration described here assumes that the PBX is already configured and operational with station side phones using assigned extensions or DIDs. This configuration is based on Mitel 3300 ICP version 9.3. Page 5 of 30

6 5.1 PBX Installation On a Windows PC located on the same network as the vmcd, start the Mitel Integrated Configuration Wizard. Click the Next button to start the configuration. Page 6 of 30

7 Select Create a new configuration and then click the Next button. Page 7 of 30

8 Fill out the IP address with an available IP address for the Mitel Select the vmcd platform in the Platform drop down box. Select a Country/Region and the click the Next button. Page 8 of 30

9 Configure the Maximum Configurable IP devices. Select the MCD radio button, then click the Next button. Page 9 of 30

11 Select the correct Area and Location. Click the Next button. Page 11 of 30

12 Select the Single MCD network configuration, check all check boxes and click the Next button. Page 12 of 30

13 Under the MCD Trunks page, configure the Answer Point. Under Configure SIP Trunks configure the SIP Service Provider ID, the FQDN or IP Address should be the LAN IP of the EdgeMarc. Username and Password should be the registering information to the EdgeMarc. Check the DIDs to Register with Service Provider and fill in the Registration User Name field. Click the Next button. 15 Adjust the ARS dial plan routing accordingly, however the default should satisfy all requirements. If dialing 9 to get an outside line is not desired, remove the leading 9 from rows 1 through 12, leaving 9 only in row 13. Click the Next button. Page 15 of 30

17 Configure a user for each phone. Click the Next button when done. Page 17 of 30

18 Add an extension number for each user. Select a Device/User Type for each user created. This should match the phone model. Click the Next button. Page 18 of 30

21 Check the MCD check box, select the Apply default system data for: and check all check boxes. Click the Next button. Page 21 of 30

22 Put in the previously configured IP address and enter in the login information. Click the Configure button. The Configuration will now be pushed to the PBX. Page 22 of 30

23 In a web browser go to the IP address of the Mitel 3300 ICP. Click on System Administration to open up the PBX configuration page. Page 23 of 30

24 Once logged in, click the Voice Network menu option, then click the Network Elements link. Select the network element previously created then click the Change button. Page 24 of 30

25 For the fields; FQDN or IP Address, External SIP Proxy FQDN or IP Address, SIP Registrar FQDN or IP Address, fill in the LAN IP address of the EdgeMarc. For the SIP Peer Port, and the External SIP Proxy Port enter in For SIP Peer Transport and External SIP Proxy Transport select UDP. Click the Save button. Page 25 of 30

26 Click on Trunks then SIP then click the SIP Peer Profile. Select the Network Element and click the Change button. Under the Basic tab, scroll to the bottom and configure the Authentication Options. Page 26 of 30

27 Click the SDP Options tab, configure each option shown exactly as above. Click the Save button. Click User and Devices then click User and Device Configuration. Select an extension then click the Change button. Page 27 of 30

28 Under the Profile table configure the extension information for caller ID. With the Device Type drop down box, select the Phone model being used. Under the Device Details tab, enter in the MAC Address of the phone. Click the Save button. Page 28 of 30

29 Click System Properties -> System Feature Settings -> System Speed Calls. From here click the Add button. Speed Call Number should be the last 7 digits of the DID pointing to the Extension. Actual Number should be the extension. Click the Save button. Call Park and retrieve, call forwarding busy, and call forwarding no answer is attempted via phone feature codes: Call Forward Busy *60, *70(to disable) Call Forward Always *67, *70(to disable) Call Park *51 Call Retrieve *52 Page 29 of 30
