4 The Company E-Medicus GmbH is an independent company, founded 2007 in Basel, currently with 12 employees (corresponding to 8 full time positions) featuring the 1 st fully cloud based ambulatory practice management solution in Switzerland using the IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) approach. The Swiss team consists of COO, CMO, CFO, Head of Sales, 3 Programmers, 2 System Supporters, 1 Project Manager, 1 Client Service Executive and 1 Secretary. H-Net AG (general contractor by order of the Swiss Government to implement ehealth in Regio Basel) provides hosting, security and ehealth solutions for E-Medicus in a secure data center in Zurich.

9 Software As A Service (SaaS) The system is fully ready to go simply by browsing to a Web site or downloading an app. Only an Internet connection is needed to be immediately upand-running. This means that the E- Medicus software can run on Microsoft and Macintosh platforms.

10 Data Access With locally installed solutions, users are usually restricted to using the system only in the medical practice where it is installed or to purchase costly VPN services. With E-Medicus, physicians and patiients can access the system over the Internet from the practice, hospital, home or on the move anywhere where there is Internet access.

11 Centralised secure database Non-cloud EMR systems have complicated software to install, a server to purchase and maintain and frequent software upgrades. With E-Medicus, physicians have none of these headaches because E- Medicus systems run centrally in a secure data centre in Zurich.

12 Low Cost and Low Risk If the office used other electronic systems (e.g. for billing only or even full EMR), stored patient data can be easily transferred to the E-Medicus solution using proprietary import tools.
