Your Responsibilities: This Biomedical Engineering Scientist is to generate technologies that enable our healthcare business to expand/improve its portfolio of products aimed at screening or diagnosis of chronic disease. This people needs to: Play an active role in the project team by contributing creative ideas aimed at developing new technologies that will be used in a biomedical engineering system. The system consists of the hardware for acquiring biomedical signal from human beings and the signal processing software and is aimed to obtain a useful measurement for doctors to screening or diagnosis chronic diseases. Design, implement, test and improve both biomedical hardware and software platforms in lab settings that demonstrate the performance of the new technology. Prepare and execute clinical tests for the new technology in the collaborated hospital. Actively collaborate with colleagues in Philips that are working in related fields and assist your colleagues, both in China and abroad, by sharing/discussing your insights. Design, implementation, testing and improvement of both biomedical hardware and software, instead of only perform algorithm research and validate the algorithm Be able to quickly ramp up in related medical field and gain corresponding clinical domain knowledge, use the gained knowledge in system development Prove the success of the measurement system through building convincing prototypes, by yourself or in collaboration with other team members

6 Position: Post-doctoral Research Scientist in MRI Tsinghua University & Philips China Joint Research Program Work Location: Beijing, China Department Description: Philips Research Asia- Shanghai Philips Research is the source of many advanced developments in Healthcare, Lifestyle and Lightening. Building on 90 years experience in industrial research and our worldleading patent position, we re dedicated to meaningful innovations. Philips Research Asia was established in 2000 and is the 2nd largest Lab of Philips corporate research. In the Healthcare domain, Philips focus on chronic disease management, imaging system solutions, and community and home healthcare tailored for the Chinese market. Center for Biomedical Imaging Research, Tsinghua University School of Medicine CBIR is a state-of-art medical imaging research center led by Prof. Chun Yuan from The University of Washington and Tsinghua University. It has established strong collaborations with industry and international academic partners through Professor League of world renowned medical imaging scientists. It is equipped with a Philips 3T whole-body MRI scanner. The 3T MRI system is an increasingly common platform for research and clinical applications that can be used for development of techniques as well as basic and clinical research, and for teaching and training. Additionally, CBIR is fully equipped with affiliated equipment for imaging technique development, hardware development, image processing and clinical research. An advanced Philips 3D iu22 ultrasound scanner is also equipped to accelerate the progress of a multi-modality center. Job responsibility: A scientist position for a person with expertise in MR physics and experience with Philips MR scanners is available immediately. The successful candidate will work at the Center for Biomedical Imaging Research in the Tsinghua University School of Medicine, Beijing, China in collaborations with center researchers and will also work closely with Philips Research. Successful candidates will have a strong background in MRI physics and sequence development on Philips MR Scanners. They will have experience engaging with clinical fields such as physicians and psychiatrists to collaborate in research. The research projects will primarily focus on MRI pulse sequences development, including accelerated imaging techniques and signal quantization.
