2 What is Business Intelligence? The success of most organizations is highly dependent on the quality of their decision making The field of business intelligence focuses on supporting and possibly improving the decision making process of an organization Definition by Boris Evelson of Forrester Research: Business Intelligence is a set of methodologies, processes, architectures, and technologies that transform raw data into meaningful and useful information used to enable more effective strategic, tactical, and operational insights and decisionmaking.
