2 ITTF Education & Training Mission Statement To play a fundamental role in providing: holistic pathways for Athletes and Coaches Development, by creating a level playing field for talented Athletes and promising Coaches, opportunities for Athletes and Coaches to obtain world s best practise sport specific knowledge, including education about rules, regulations and policies related to ITTF, ITTF events and policies.

4 Program OBJECTIVES SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT of our sport driven by GLOBAL REACH and UNIVERSALITY Introduction of a TALENT IDENTIFICATION program with a global drive (ITTF Hopes) Growth of our sport in UNTAPPED MARKETS (With the Future in Mind/YOG and OG Candidates) Provision of HIGH QUALITY COACHING to young Players and EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES for promissing Coaches in professional training environments (International Training Centers Network) Introduce MANAGEMENT aspects to improve the flow of athletes (Hello Future Conference) Provide up-to-date and highly applicable KNOW-HOW to customers via modern education methods (Online Education) POINT OF REFERENCE for National Associations and National Olympic Committees In order to accomplish the set objectives and goals the following Athletes Development Model has been introduced: 4

7 ITTF HOPES A global Talent Identification program for very young Playersand theircoaches that follows the THINK GLOBALLY, ACT LOCALLY pathway. FLAG ACTIVATION: 58 registered NAs with 185 Players NATIONAL/REGIONAL/CONTINENTAL PHASE: Ghana, Kenya, Zambia, Nicaragua, Haiti, Uruguay, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Bahrain, Oceania, Latin-America, Europe (Eurotalents) etc. 7

11 WITH THE FUTURE IN MIND The core component of the Athletes Development Model targetting Prospects from non-traditional Table Tennis markets in the pursuit of their Olympic Dream. Implemented in 2-year cycles: : 2014 Youth Olympic Games, i.e. the ITTF Road to Nanjing project * : Nomination of candidates for 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games * The list of Prospects depends on OS and respective NOCs approvals. WFIM Scholarship Holders, who qualified for the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games:

14 WFIM Leaving a Permanent Mark in Athletes Lives 7 out of 14 athletes supported via the WFIM/OS program qualified for the YOG 7 more players, supported through the Global Junior Program incentives, qualified, too Athletes Role Models, Wang Liqin and Jorgen Persson, at the 2014 YOG Culture & Education Exibition 14

16 2 online courses: YUP International with 38 participants YUP China with Young Umpires from 4 continents were nominated/selected for Nanjing, with additional 4 targeted for the World YOG qualifications in Portugal Based on the positive experience with the YUP, thanks also to the fruitful cooperation with the URC, it is clear that the platform is ready to be used also for more comprehensive educational initiatives, for example online examination for International Umpires 16
