3 Slovenia is small country Since 1992 when we were taken to the big FIBA and FIBA Europe family as independent country, Slovenian national teams achieved: Senior man team has been a participant of all EUROBASKET EUROBASKET 09 finished 4 th Take part on 2006 and 2010 WC U22 men won silver medal on EC 1998 U20 men won 2 gold medals (EC 2000 and 2004), bronze medal (EC 2006) and take part on 2 WC U18 men won silver medal (EC 2002) and take part on WC Woman U18 team has been promoted to the Division A (our first woman team ever in A division) and in first year took 4th place and U19 women play on WC in 2011

8 Basketball for youngest Playful basketball is basketball for children between the age of 4 and 9 years. Rules are designed to suit best for this age group. It is intended for children and not for coaches. Through playful basketball we want them to achieve confidence in themselves and in their personal and social skills. With this they build a positive selfesteem. We care that children at playful basketball with their emotions and needs always come first.

9 Why playful basketball? Playful basketball is created in order to promote basketball in primary and pre-school environment. Therefore, we will bring playful basketball where it is most desirable - among children!

19 GOALS OF THE PROGRAM Methodical evaluation of: morphological and motor potential, basic technical and tactical basketball skills, game ability and performance; Improve the basis with individual work; Educate both players and coaches; Prepare players and coaches for work in national programe and national teams.

20 PROGRAM ORGANIZATION BOYS: TWO YEARS PERIOD (U13 and U14); GIRLS: ONE YEAR PERIOD (U14); DURING: OCTOBER JUNE; DISTRIBUTION - 4 REGIONS: EAST I, EAST II, WEST I, WEST II.

21 REGIONAL SELECTION BOYS U13 ORGANIZATION: COACH INSTRUCTOR - BFS; REGIONAL COACHES AND THEIR ASSISTANTS; 4 REGIONS (each region is divided to 4 regional teams); 16 REGIONAL TEAMS (each regional team is selected from players of 4 8 club teams); CLUBS (all basketball clubs in Slovenia that are working with youth); PLAYERS (more then 400 boys); COACHES (more then 90 club coaches); PRACTISE (each team have 7 practise); REGIONAL TOURNAMENTS (each team have 2 tournaments between 4 regional teams in each region); FINAL TOURNAMENT (one day event - 16 teams, 190 players, 50 coaches, 33 games); REGIONAL SELECTIONS U14 (after first year of the programe coaches select U14 regional selection teams).
