7 Basic frame uni-cart Basic frame uni-cart (with 4 stabilizers) The basic frame uni-cart with 4 stabilizers provides a secure solution for mounting all projecting system modules, such as drawers and shelves, because the length of the stabilizers can be adapted to suit individual requirements. This combination provides a high level of stability and flexibility. The support column offers neat and concealed cable routing. An integrated strain relief protects outgoing cabling. Socket strips, infusion rods or monitor holders can also be easily integrated. The length of the stabilizers can be adapted to suit individual requirements. This combination provides a high level of stability and flexibility. It allows secure and space-saving accommodation of socket strips and other electrical components and protects from unauthorised access through locking mechanism. In conjunction with the laterally attachable cable ducts, it supports an almost invisible, safe and smart cabling and electrification solution. System components and accessories can be variably mounted on each side of the support column using T-slots and, thus, provide custom-made solutions, as well as real-time response to requirements. The opening slits on the cable ducts allow short connection lines for the entire height of the support column. The smooth surfaces of the cable ducts ensure quick and neat options for cleaning and disinfection (see page 38 for more information on the cable management). The design of the base guarantees a high level of resistance to twisting and space-saving integration of an isolating transformer (see page 252). The frame also offers lots of options for expansion and upgrading. 14 Power columns for basic frame classic-cart Profi The aluminium extrusion with two spacious cable shafts offers lots of storage space for cable management. Power cables and data lines can be routed separately to individual units. This means socket strips can be enclosed and integrated over the full height of the columns. Continuous soft cover extrusions protect cabling. Quick-release cable ties provide fast cable fixing. Power columns (for more information see page 78) can also be supplied with a cutout for installing an on and off switch (see page 255). The design of the base also guarantees an optimum ratio of storage area to work area. In addition to meeting the demands for a functional equipment cart, the spacious power columns of the basic frame Profi also provide expanded capacity for separate cable routing of large volumes of power cables and data lines, and accommodation of all standard socket strips. 20 Rear doors for basic frame compact-cart Profi The lockable rear doors offer optimum protection against unauthorized access at the rear side of equipment and also provide a perfect solution from hygienic and visual perspectives. The large opening angle (135 ) of the doors provides unimpeded access to the rear side of the equipment for maintenance and service operations. The door can also easily be removed if required. The perforation in the rear doors, and so their air permeability, protects the high-end medical equipment and apparatuses from overheating. 122 isolating transformer Isolating transformers are used to reduce the maximum discharge current to values in conformity with rated current. If several units are being used on one equipment cart, the individual devices are frequently supplied with electricity via one multiple socket strip mounted on the cart. The earth-leakage currents from this equipment can add up to a value that is significantly above the permissible limit of 0.5 ma. Since the earth-leakage currents can also occur during error-free operation, the isolating transformer prevents these currents from discharging to earth through the patients or the medical staff / theatre personnel. This guarantees maximum safety for all those people involved. The isolating transformers for pro-cart, classic-cart, compact-cart and endo-cart can also be fitted with an ELG insulation monitor (see page 255). This is a visual/acoustic display element that monitors falling insulation resistance in the entire system. An acoustic alert is also given if there is a hazard. This means that the medical/theatre staff can reach a timely decision on whether the procedure should be completed or whether it needs to be brought to a controlled end. It is also possible to check the overall status of the system before every examination. However, this does not replace the test/maintenance intervals laid down for individual units. 123 Overview The new Generation of isolating transformers You are on the safe side with the new toroidal transformers for pro-cart, classic-cart, compact-cart and endo-cart from ITD GmbH. Reduction of the appliance leakage currents is ensured by adherence to the present applicable standards of EN rd Edition. Meanwhile, transformer relays with faster half-wave failure detection, for adherence to the EN , as well as certification in accordance with the NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) for importing into the USA and Canada are further indispensable standards that must be fulfilled. Based on the following representation, you can get a brief overview of the new generation of isolating transformers. Detailed information is available on the following pages. Safety The isolating transformer is a medical device according to Directive 93 /42 EEC and complies with standard DIN EN ISO (3 rd Edition). Electronically regulated, fast half-wave failure recognition for compliance with DIN EN CE labelling. Selected variations with NRTL certification (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) for unobjectionable introduction in the USA or Canada. Modularity As independent unit, autonomous retrofitting, dismantling, or replacement is possible at any time for prompt reactions to market requirements as well as future safety. An adapter offers the optional retrofitting of an on / off switch in the power column or rack profile. IEC slots are located directly on the isolating transformer. Additional outlet strips can be added if necessary. Equipotental bonding bolts (according to DIN EN ISO 42801) serves for the connection of a medical equipotential bonding present in the room. On and off switch An additional switch / cabling set offers the highly visible integration of an on and off switch in the cap of the equipment cart pro-cart or in the power columns of classic-cart / endo-cart or compact-cart (see page 255). 250

This can be connected using simple Plug and Play technology. It only takes up one socket on the EURO socket strip.
