2 DUAL ADMISSIOI{ AGREEMENT CORE-TO-CORE TRANSFER AGREEMENT BETWEEN DELAWARE COUNTY COMMUT{ITY COLLEGE AND ARCADIA UI\IVERSITY Preface Delaware County Commturity College (DCCC) and Arcadia University (AU) enter into this Dual Admission Agreement and Core-to-Core Transfer Agreement to facilitate the transfer of DCCC students to AU. This agreement applies to both fuil-time and part-time undergraduate students. Dual Admission Under the Dual Admission Transfer Agreement, DCCC students wiil be guaranteed admission into Arcadia University with third year (unior) status at AU on the condition that they: o graduate from DCCC with an Associate in Arts (A.A.), or an Associate in Science (A.S.) Degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5;' Please see Appendix A for a list of majors included in this agreement.. enroll at AU within one year of DCCC graduation;. do not attend another institution of higher education between the time they graduate from DCCC and enroll at AU; o complete a "Dual Admission Intent" form at the time of admission to DCCC, or no later than when they have completed 0 college transferable credits from all colleges/universities attended;. satisff all other regular AU admissions requirements.. Receive a grade of "C-" or better. Only grades with a"c-" or higher will transfer to Arcadia University; and o Arcadia University requires matriculated students to complete 50Yo of their major courses at the University. Arcadia University will accept a maximum of 75 credits from a2-year college and 90 credits from a -year college. Students should be aware that not all credits will be applied towards their major at Arcadia. A fulitime student admitted with third year fiunior) status to AU will be able to complete a Bachelor's degree at AU within four regular semesters2 provided the student completes the appropriate Associate Degree program at DCCC and completes and appropriately sequences his/her remaining course work at AU. Core-to-Core AU agrees to accept the General Education embedded in DCCC's Associate in Arts (A.A.) and Associate in Science (A.S.) degrees as meeting all the requirements of its undergraduate General t Certain majors may require higher GPAs (for example, Education.0, Pre-PA and Pre-PT.2 for assured admission). 2 Except for students enrolled in the BFA in Acting, Art Education or Studio Art or BA in Biology with a concentration in Pre-PA or Pre-PT as these programs may take more than semesters.
3 Education requirements, except for the Global Connections Experience and Reflection as well as the Senior Capstone Course. This Core-to.Core Agreement applies to all DCCC A.A. and A.S. graduates with majors listed in Appendix A and is not limited to students who participate in the Dual Admission agteement, This Dual Admission and Core-to-Core Transfer Agreement becomes effective on May 1, 201i' To facilitate the transfer of DCCC graduates to AU in accordance with the foregoing guarantee, the parties agree to the following: Obligations of Arcadia University : 1. To invite DCCC students to an informational meeting with AU faculty and staffon a regular basis at both DCCC and AU in order to facilitate smooth curricular and co-curricular integration to AU. 2. To send an AU letter of admission to alt DCCC students who complete a "Dual Admission Intent" form and Arcadia University application in accordance with the expectations stated in the Preface of this agreement and who meet the conditions set forth in the Preface. This offer of admission is typicatly sent the semester before the students plan to matriculate. Students must confirm their intention to matriculate at AU by submitting a deposit by May l't for the fall semester, and by December 1't for the spring semester, and satisfy all other. regular AU admissions requirements. DCCC students who complete a'1'dual Admission Intent" form will be governed by the AU degree requirements in effect at the time of signing the "Dual Admission Intent" fom.. To waive the application fee for students who enroll at AU pursuant to this Agreement.. To award academic scholarships to all qualified students admitted to AU pursuant to this Agreement. Full-time AU students (enrolled in 12 or more credits a semester) with a final DCCC GPA will receive a minimum of $7,500 scholarship; full-time students. with a final DCCC GPA will receive a minimum of $9,000 scholarship; and fuiltime students with a will receive aminimum qf $1,000 scholarship. Students with a.5-.0 cumulative GPA will also be eligible to receive a $5,000/yr Partnei Schoiarship. Part-time students (enrolled in 6 to 1 1 credits a semester) with a final DCCC GPA of.0 or higher wili receive a $500 scholarship. All scholarships may be renewed each year contingent upon the studenis remaining in good academic standing at AU. Students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA to remain in good standing. Students are also eligible for need-based financial aid and other types of financial aid. DCCC students admitted under the agreement will receive full consideration for all AU financial aid. 5. To ensure these students will be provided with AU financial aid information and receive full consideration for AU financial aid upon matriculation at AU. 6. To support a Core-to-Core articulation agreement that allows the DCCC A.A. or A.S. degree to fuifiil all AU General Educzition requirements, except for the Global Connections In the case where the student does not earn a "B" or better in English Composition I, a placement exam will be administered. The resuits will determine if an additional writing class is required. 2
4 Experience and Reflection as well as the Senior Capstone Course. o Eligible DCCC graduates enrolling at AU will be identified upon admission to AU, and the fact that they have satisfied AU General Education requirements by Core-to-Core transfer will be noted on all pertinent AU student records. 7. To accept Core-to-Core transfers as satisfying all the requirements of the AU General Education curriculum, except for those noted above, to be taken at AU. Core-to-Core transfer does not alter the requirements of the student's major field of study or its admissions standard as identified in the AU catalog published in the year the student signed the agreement. 8. DCCC graduates entering AU under the terms of this agreement go through the AU normal transfer admissions process and therefore must meet all applicable AU requirements and deadlines pertaining to application for admission, orientation and registration, and payment of tuition and fees. They will abide by the policies and procedures, and any revisions thereof, that apply to all AU students. 9. To continue working with DCCC on program-to-program curriculum articulation agreements that specify for DCCC transfer students the DCCC courses that satisfy major requirements needed for degree completion at AU. Obligations of Delarvare County Community College To publicize this Agreement to prospective students in its promotional literature, to make special arrangements for AU recruiters and advisors to visit DCCC, and to inform qualified students matriculating at DCCC of the opporlunity for Dual Admission and Core-to-Core transfer to AU under the terms of this Agreement. Joint Obligations 1. Consult with each other through appropriate channels prior to implementing major changes in policy or curricula that directly affect students transferring under the terms of this Agreement, and keep each other informed of any other changes of policy or curricula that affect those students. Both AU and DCCC will review this Agreement annually and make any changes upon mufual agreement, as needed. Such changes will become effective when both DCCC and AU sign the revised document. 2. Collaborate in providing students with information and academic advising about this agreement, AU's academic requirements, and the process of transferring to AU.. DCCC and AU jointly agree to develop and implement advertising and promotional efforts to communicate the benefits of Duai Admission and Core-to-Core transfer.. Each institution will designate a representative or representatives who will coordinate the Dual Admission and Core-to-Core Transfer Agreement between the two institutions. a In the case where the student does not earn a "B" or better in English Composition I a placement exam will be administered. 7 Addendum- lnternational Conditional Admission Delaware County Community College is proud to partner with Arcadia University in a Conditional Admissions program for lnternational students. Students who successfully complete a two year Associate's Degree with Delaware County Community College are guaranteed admission at Arcadia University to complete a Bachelo/s Degree. Effective September 1, 201, Arcadia University will offer Conditional Admission to lnternational Students enrolling at Delaware County Community College. Admission to Arcadia is contingent upon: 1) Completion of your Delaware County Community College Associate's Degree in one of the approved majors listed in the Dual Admission Agreement. 2) Maintaining a minimum cumulative grade point average of Specific majors may be subject to additional academic requirements such as Education (.0) or Pre-health majors such as Physical Therapy or Physician Assistant (.2). ) Submission of Arcadia's free online application. \ Completion of ENG 100 at Delaware County Community College with a grade of B or higher in each course. lf ENG 100 not completed, the TOEFL or IELTS will be required. 5) Completion of thedual Admissions lntentto Enroll form prior to ea rning 0 tra nsferable credits. 201-
