1 Info-kit for EVS project PARTNERS: COORDINATING ORGANISATION & SENDING ORGANISATIONS: Associação Mais Cidadania (Lisbon, Portugal) HOSTING ORGANISATIONS: Bridge to the Future Youth Union (Ganja, Azerbaijan) About hosting organization - Bridge to the Future Youth Public Union: Bridge to the Future Youth Union was established in 2000 by some initiative young people in Ganja. The organization mission statement are: - to assist the active participation of Azerbaijan s youth, - establishment of healthy civil society - provide youth representation of our country on the international level Bridge to the Future strives to increase youth participation in activities, support disabled people in personal development and acquiring necessary job search skills, develop intellectual abilities and professional skills of youth, involve youth in volunteer work, form civil society through the youth movement, ensure youth participation in environmental actions and tourism, and to develop mutual relationships between Azerbaijani and world youth. In pursuit of the above - mentioned objectives, Union regularly provides local, national and international seminars, conventions, meetings, training courses, consultative services, and work camps.

2 Besides that, organization is cooperating closely with local municipality, Youth and Sport Head Department of Ganja, Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, NAYORA (National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan), Ministry of Youth and Sport and so on. The organization is full member of international youth network named Youth for Exchange and Understanding International (YEU) and Human Rights Education Youth Network HREYN and a guest member of Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations in which organizations do work-camps and exchange volunteers each other from all over world. Bridge to the Future is a non-profit youth organization independent of all political affiliation, run by young people for young people. BF experience in EVS Programme: The Union has been involved in EVS projects since 2012 when accredited as a sending and hosting organization under EVS Programme. We have sent more than 25 volunteers to the projects with different durations in European countries such as France, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, Luxemburg and Turkey and hosted 4 German volunteers from 2013 to 2015 in Ganja for a long term. 2 more volunteers from Germany are already selected and will be starting their volunteering at BF office from 1st October for a yearlong in Ganja too. G.I.V.E. Global Illimited Volunteering Energy G.I.V.E. (Global Illimited Volunteering Energy) is based on the idea of building a global community under the principles of Global Education: education that opens people s eyes and minds to the realities of the globalized world and awakens them to bring about a world of greater justice, equity and human rights for all.

3 Global education is understood to encompass development education, human rights education, education for sustainable development, education for peace and conflict prevention and intercultural education; being the global dimension of education for citizenship. Maastricht Global Education Declaration (2002) This EVS project aims to: - use Global education to foster citizens awareness on social justice and sustainable development; - help youngsters, organisations and communities to understand the complex realities and processes of today s world and develop values, attitudes, knowledge and skills that will enable them to face the challenges of an interconnected world; -promote acceptance of other nessandinter dependency thus creating the conditions for others to express themselves and build behaviour of solidarity; - promote the values that EU was build in: The Union is founded on the values of respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights, including the rights of persons belonging to minorities. The values are common to the Member States in a society in which pluralism, nondiscrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity and equality between women and men prevail. Project dates and place: The project will last a year long starting from 1st January 2017 until 31st December The project will take place in Ganja city - which is the 2nd biggest city in Azerbaijan after the capital Baku. In Ganja there are nearly population are settled. In Ganja there are 3 universities and 4 colleges. Ganja had been selected as Azerbaijan Youth Capital in 2012 and then after being a candidate for European Youth Capital, it won the title to be European Youth Capital In 2016, there were much more international and European youth projects such as training courses, festivals, study visits and etc. took place in Ganja on the occasion of the capital. Tasks of the volunteer: Bridge to the Future NGO is specialized in working with young people who lives constantly or studies in Ganja since There are interest clubs such as guitar, language conversations (English, Italian, Russian and so on.), discussion, MAFIA GAME, art and painting clubs which are totally free of charge and initiated by the

4 volunteers at the organization. Those clubs are replaces or created based on the volunteers skills and motivation. Moreover there are seminars, training courses, meetings on the topics of volunteering, youth participation, leadership, intercultural learning, social media, gender equality and etc. held in the organization from time to time. We expect from the volunteer to develop his/her activities in order to support us at BF office are: Leading English and Portuguese conversation clubs per week Doing leisure activities: leisure time workshops, seminars and other extracurricular activities etc. Together with local volunteers doing sport activities (sport competitions, fun actions and energizers) in SOS Children Villages in Ganja for teenage youth per week Helping staff members on writing and management process of organizational project(s) Doing monthly organizational presentations and consulting about EVS Programme in local educational institutions with staff members of BF Taking pictures and videos, editing and designing small movies of projects, festivals, parties and so on. held by Bridge to the Future NGO Supporting indoor and outdoor activities run for and by youngsters (using your talents and interests) Profile of the volunteer: We are looking for candidate who is responsible, creative, empathetic, communicative, adaptable, motivated to learn and contribute We will value those candidates with: being between ages high interest on working with youth are at the age of mainly) having good skills on photography and video, editing (working on PhotoShop CS and other video and photo editing programs) and creating small movies Social skills, communication skills and conflict resolution skills IT skills (such as good working capacity in office programs at least and etc.) open to work with people from other cultures and religions good English language skills General conditions: The voluntary service covers:
