1 Michelle Harter Warsaw - District 1 Michelle Harter has been a girls basketball coach at Warsaw Community High School for the past 22 years. Harter spent the first 17 years at the junior varsity level and recently completed her fifth season as head coach, where she has guided the Lady Tigers to an record. That mark includes a 24-2 ledger in , a season that included the TCU Holiday Tournament championship in Warsaw, the Sectional 4 championship and the Valparaiso Regional championship. A graduate of Wawasee High School, where she played on a State Finalist team in 1985, Harter attended Huntington University and played basketball there. As a coach, Harter twice has been named the Northern Lakes Conference Coach of the Year, has been chosen an ICGSA District 2 Coach of the Year and has been selected to direct the 2013 IndyStar.com Indiana Junior All-Star Girls. Harter is a health and physical education teacher at Warsaw Community High School. Rod Parker Homestead - District 1 Rod Parker has been varsity girls basketball coach at Homestead High School for 11 seasons, compiling a record, including a 21-4 mark in A 1993 graduate of IPFW, Parker s teams are known for their uptempo play and have finished second in the state among Class 4A schools in scoring offense the past two seasons. Parker and his wife, Melissa, have three children: Madison, Rylie and Ryan. Shane Sumpter Westfield - District 2
2 Shane Sumpter has compiled a record in six seasons as a head coach, including an mark in five seasons at Westfield. Sumpter guided the Lady Rocks to a 21-3 record and a sectional title in , the second sectional crown of his tenure. His squad also cut sectional nets in A graduate of Frankton High School and Anderson University, Sumpter began his coaching career as a girls basketball assistant for three seasons at Frankton. He then was a boys basketball assistant for one season at Westfield before moving to Anderson as a boys basketball assistant for six seasons. Sumpter then moved back to the girls game, becoming the Anderson girls head coach for one season, compiling a mark and sharing the North Central Conference championship in He became the Westfield girls coach in , and the Lady Rocks have posted five consecutive winning seasons while consistently ranking in the state s top-five defensively. Sumpter was selected Indy North Coach of the Year in 2010, and he was chosen Hamilton County co-coach of the Year in Sumpter also was picked as ICGSA District 3 Coach of the Year in Sumpter is the proud father of two children: Emma (9) and Logan (5). Tod Windlan Hamilton Heights - District 2 Tod Windlan has directed the Hamilton Heights girls basketball team to new heights during his tenure with the Huskies. In just two seasons, Windlan s teams have compiled a 40-8 record with two sectional and two Mid-Indiana Conference championships. In , the Huskies went 21-5 and captured regional and semi-state crowns en route to a Class 3A state runner-up finish. Windlan has a nine-year varsity coaching record of His career includes four seasons at Frankton (58-34), two seasons at Anderson Highland (15-28) and one season at Delta (10-14) before moving to Hamilton Heights. Windlan has been chosen to be an assistant coach for the 2013 IndyStar.com Indiana Junior All-Stars. He twice has been selected at Hamilton County Coach of the Year by Hamilton County Sports Daily. Windlan also was picked as ICGSA Class 3A Coach of the Year in 2013.
3 Windlan s coaching career began at Elwood, where he served as boys basketball JV coach from He then was a girls basketball assistant at Anderson Highland from and later was a girls basketball assistant for one season at Yorktown between his head coaching stops at Anderson Highland and Delta. A 1984 graduate of Frankton, Windlan attended Purdue where he was a four-year member of the Boilermakers golf program and earned a bachelor s degree in 1989 in health, physical education and safety. Windlan and his wife, Stacey, have three children: Kennedy (18), Sydney (16) and Karsten (12). Kurt Godlevske Bedford North Lawrence - District 3 Kurt Godlevske guided Bedford North Lawrence to the Class 4A state championship in , compiling a 28-0 record, winning the Hoosier Hills Conference championship and seeing his Lady Stars ranked as high as No. 19 in the USA Today Super 25 national rankings released on March 26. Godlevske has coached the Lady Stars for seven seasons, compiling a record with two sectional titles as well as one regional and one semi-state crown. His overall record as a head coach is Before taking over the BNL girls, Godlevske was a men s basketball assistant coach from at Lake Superior State University (Mich.), a boys head coach at L Anse High School (Mich.) from , a boys assistant at Lawrence North in Indianapolis for Jack Keefer in and simultaneously was the boys and girls head coach at Newberry High School (Mich.) from Godlevske was Copper Country Conference Coach of the Year in 2002 and Hoosier Hills Conference Coach of the Year in 2012 and Godlevske also was chosen ICGSA Class 4A Coach of the Year in Godlevske was raised in Bedford but moved to Michigan as a teenager and is a 1989 graduate of L Anse High School. He attended Northern Michigan University, where he earned the team s Sixth Man Award in 1992, its MVP award in 1993 and collected Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference all-conference and all-tournament honors in He earned his master s degree from the University of Indianapolis in 2004 and added an administrator s license from Oakland City University in 2008.
4 Godlevske currently is principal at Dollens Elementary School in the North Lawrence Community Schools system. Godlevske and his wife, Beth, have three children: Corrin (14), Noah (7) and Katie (6). Pat McKee Columbus North - District 3 Pat McKee s teams at Columbus North have compiled a record in three seasons, including a 25-1 record and sectional championship in The Bull Dogs were ranked No. 1 for much of the regular season and reached as high as No. 8 in the USA Today Super 25 national rankings. In each of McKee s three seasons, CN has matched or set school records for wins in a season (19 in , 23 in and 25 in ) and twice has set school records for consecutive wins (19 in and 25 in ). The Bull Dogs won sectional, regional and semi-state championships in 2012, finishing as Class 4A state runner-up. McKee was named Conference Indiana co-coach of the Year in 2011 and and CI Coach of the Year in He also was selected Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association District 3 Coach of the Year in 2013 and has been chosen to coach in the HBCA East-West All-Star Game in April He also served as last-minute coach for the 2012 Indiana Junior All-Stars in its games against Kentucky and was named Coach of the Year by The Columbus Republic for all sports for the school year. Before becoming a high school coach, McKee was an assistant coach for four seasons for the Butler University women s team and later coached Indiana-based girls basketball travel teams for 16 years. He also served as the Indiana AAU Girls Basketball chair from and on the AAU national Girls Basketball Committee from McKee previously worked as a sports journalist for more than 30 years, receiving the IBCA s Virgil Sweet Award in He was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame as a recipient of the St. Vincent Silver Medal in He also was inducted into the Indiana Sportswriters & Sportscasters Association Hall of Fame in A native of St. Louis, McKee is a 1977 graduate of Christian Brothers College High School and played on a state quarterfinalist team as a senior. He attended the University of Missouri, graduating in He worked in the sports department for The Indianapolis Star from
