The Vitosorp 200-F gas adsorption heating appliance combines proven Viessmann gas condensing technology with an innovative, stainless steel heat pump module featuring a zeolite absorber and a high performance evaporator. Efficient heating naturally Environmentally responsible heating means keeping the use of fossil fuels to a minimum, not only because of the harmful emissions they produce, but also because they are a finite resource. A proven principle rediscovered The exceptional properties of zeolite have been known since the 18th century. This mineral can bind water to its porous surface and in the process release heat. No technical application could be found for this property at the time, but today the Vitosorp 200-F gas adsorption heating appliance uses zeolite for generating heat. The Vitosorp 200-F reduces gas consumption by up to 25 percent compared to conventional condensing technology, as it also heats using free natural heat from the ground or the sun. This not only reduces greenhouse gases, but also cuts heating bills a further major benefit with today's continually increasing energy prices. Vitosorp 200-F technology uses natural materials: The refrigerant circuit consists of only zeolite and water and therefore contains no harmful substances. The simple answer is that it makes heating with gas even more efficient. The Vitosorp 200-F gas adsorption heating appliance takes economical heating to a whole new level. Compared to conventional gas condensing boilers, the Vitosorp 200-F uses up to 25 percent less energy. As a gas only appliance, the heat pump module runs on natural gas or LPG rather than electricity. This dramatically reduces power consumption. Base and peak load covered by a single appliance The Vitosorp 200-F consists of a zeolite heat pump module and a gas condensing boiler. The heat pump module covers the base load of the building's heat demand with natural heat. The integral gas condensing boiler fuels the heat pump process and covers peak loads on particularly cold days. It also acts as a booster for quick and convenient DHW heating. 2 1 Ideal for modern living The Vitosorp 200-F is designed to meet the heat demand of detached houses. The heating centre is particularly efficient in new build. The use of environmental energy ensures a secure energy supply for the future. This unit already meets the stricter EnEV requirements for new build applicable from However, the Vitosorp 200-F is also an efficient solution for modernisation projects, as flow temperatures of up to 75 C are feasible (recommendation < 55 C). Easy handling and installation save time and money. With its compact dimensions and a width Vitosorp 200-F of only 600 mm, the gas adsorption heating appliance fits snugly into the space of a standard kitchen unit (room height at least 2.20 metres). 5 4/5 Compact and quiet operation: The Vitosorp 200-F can be installed in the living space. Flexible utilisation of natural heat The special design of the Vitosorp 200-F allows flexible and affordable utilisation of geothermal heat or solar thermal energy. Solar collectors, geothermal collectors or geothermal cages are available for new build. In existing buildings, the solar collectors already installed can be used as a primary heat source. A vertical, 60 metre deep geothermal probe would be a space saving geothermal solution. The zeolite module with water as a refrigerant can never overload (freeze) the geothermal heat source. Consequently, underground frost poses no risk to this system. The geothermal collector can be charged with tap water. The appliance can, therefore, also be installed in winter, when ice and snow temporarily prevent the connection of a heat source in the garden or on the roof.

6 Zeolite module Zeolite: A natural material with exceptional properties A process patented by Viessmann makes the transfer of heating energy to the heating water fast and efficient. Zeolite has an extremely large surface area and can therefore absorb large amounts of water vapour molecules. Zeolite is a naturally occurring mineral that is particularly porous and finely structured. One gramme of this exceptional material has a surface area of up to 1000 square metres. This is equal to the surface area of around three tennis courts. It therefore has a very high adsorption capacity for water vapour and a correspondingly effective sorption process. First adsorption, then desorption: A formula for greater efficiency Zeolite adsorbs the water vapour generated from geothermal heat in the heat pump module. This adsorption process generates high temperatures for heating. The bonded water vapour is then released again (desorption) with energy from the gas condensing boiler. As the water vapour condenses, more heat is released and transferred to the heating system. This can be repeated endlessly, because the adsorption and release of water vapour does not use up the zeolite. Clever zeolite technology: Coating instead of loosely heaped granulate For the Vitosorp 200-F, Viessmann has developed the patented zeolite coating process. Instead of filling the heat exchangers with loose zeolite granulate, they are coated with it. This means that the zeolite is in contact with the whole of the heat exchanger rather than only in contact with it at certain points. This makes the transfer of heating energy to the heating water much faster and more efficient. Zeolite and water: The environmentally responsible duo The Vitosorp 200-F heat pump employs zeolite technology that uses only natural materials. Zeolite, for example, is also found in many cleaning agents as a water softener. And because the refrigerant is tap water, only environmentally responsible substances are used. The zeolite absorbs the water vapour, and the heat generated by this process is transferred to the heating circuit. Desorption (zeolite drying): The gas condensing boiler dries the zeolite. Residual heat is transferred to the heating circuit.

9 8/9 Modernisation with solar thermal technology: Natural heat without boreholes In some modernisation projects, depending on local conditions, it is not possible to drill boreholes. Where this is the case, the solution can be found in a solar thermal system, because this can be used all year round as a source of natural heat for running the Vitosorp 200-F. In order to make the best use of the sun's energy in winter too, a buffer cylinder can be integrated between the solar thermal system and the Vitosorp 200-F. New build or modernisation: The Vitosorp 200-F covers all bases Installing new windows or better roof insulation may be sufficient to achieve heat loads of less than 11 kw and reduce the flow temperatures in the connected heating network. If a greater output is required, the appliance can be used with up to 15 kw heating output. This makes the Vitosorp 200- F the perfect choice for modernisation projects. Heat pump and underfloor heating: The high efficiency duo The Vitosorp 200-F is impressively efficient. The lower the operating temperature, however, the greater the effect of the heat pump. It is, therefore, particularly beneficial to combine it with a heating system with low operating temperatures: Underfloor heating is a prime example. Reducing your heating bills automatically: Hydraulic balancing of the heating system The gas condensing module in the Vitosorp 200-F is designed for compatibility with the Vitoflow automatic hydraulic balancing system. The Vitoflow ensures that each radiator is supplied with precisely the right amount of heat required for the room in question. This can reduce energy consumption by up to 15 percent, which also cuts CO 2 emissions. A test report provides the system user with the verification required when submitting an application for KfW subsidies. The Vitosorp 200-F is particularly efficient when combined with underfloor heating systems which operate with low temperatures.
