10 0. NOTES TO MAY-JUNE 0 TIMETABLE Indicates a common paper.. The time indicated on the Timetable includes: (i) Reading Time. (ii) For Electronic Document Preparation and Management Papers and 3, 0 minutes Reading Time and 0 minutes to warm-up on the computer prior to the start of the examination. 3. Starting times for all centres within a territory are 09:00 hr and 3:00 hr. If at any centre the number of candidates is greater than can be accommodated in one session, the Local Registrar may arrange to administer the examination in two or more sessions, ensuring that suitable arrangements are made to preserve the integrity of the examination. 4. Visual Arts: A common paper containing all options will be issued. ALL candidates will be required to submit a Reflective Journal (the replacement for the Illustrated Paper). In addition to the Reflective Journal, candidates will be required to choose two Production Papers from the Options below: (i) Drawing; (ii) Painting and Mixed-media; (iii) Graphic and Communication Design; (iv) Printmaking; (v) Textile Design and Manipulation; (vi) Sculpture and Ceramics; (vii) Leathercraft; (viii) Fibre and Decorative Arts. Candidates must select for the final examination those options for which SBA assignments have been done. The Test Papers are to be handed to candidates on, 3 April. The examinations must be completed during the period 0- May. All of the Options are 6-hour papers and should be divided into two () 3- hour sessions with a break of not less than hour between sessions. These two sessions need not be held on the same day. 5. French and Spanish Oral Examinations (Paper 3) in each territory will be conducted during the period 6 0 April in accordance with the Local Registrar s schedule. 6. All Paper examinations are multiple choice except those in Electronic Document Preparation and Management, English B, Music, Physical Education and Sport, Theatre Arts and Visual Arts. 7. The Practical Examinations in Physical Education and Sport (Paper ) in each territory will be conducted during the period 3-30 April in accordance with the Local Registrar s schedule. 8. The Practical Examinations in Music (Paper ) in each territory will be conducted during the period 0 May - 08 May in accordance with the Local
11 Registrar s schedule. For Music Paper - there will be a 0-minute break between Section I and Sections II and III. Both papers for Music Paper are combined Question Paper/Answer Booklets. 9. Attention is drawn to the rule that non-programmable scientific calculators may be used in the following examinations: (i) Additional Mathematics (ii) Building Technology: Construction (iii) Building Technology: Woods (iv) Chemistry (v) Economics (vi) Electrical and Electronic Technology (vii) Geography (viii) Integrated Science SA (ix) Mathematics - Paper only (x) Mechanical Engineering Technology (xi) Office Administration Papers and 3/ (xii) Physics (xiii) Principles of Accounts (xiv) Principles of Business Paper 3/ only (xv) Technical Drawing Papers and 3 0. The use of geometry sets (mathematical instruments) is permitted in Biology Paper, Geography Papers, and 3/ and Mathematics Paper.. Information Technology Paper : this subject will be offered at General Proficiency level only. It is not a practical examination - no computer workstations will be required. The Paper will be offered in the multiple choice format.. The Alternative Paper (3/) to SBA in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Integrated Science is not a practical examination no lab facilities will be required. 3. Candidates taking the Technical Drawing Paper 3, CAD Option, on 07 May should be given additional time for printing at the end of the examination. 4. Candidates taking the Electronic Document Preparation and Management Papers and 3/ on 04 May and 05 June, respectively, should be given additional time for printing at the end of the examination.
12 5. Additional Mathematics will be offered for the first time at the May-June 0 sitting. 6. The Alternative Paper to SBA (Paper 3/), must be written by private candidates who opted not to complete the SBA assignments. Papers and 3/ must be written in the same session with a 5-minute break between them. Paper must be written before Paper 3/.
