2 Elisabetta Isola - Biography Elisabetta Isola attended the Conservatory Niccolo Paganini in Genoa, where she studied with Carmen Vilalta and Gloria ScalchiScalchi. She achieved the first level Academic Diploma with good grades, at the "Achille Peri" in Reggio Emilia, under the guidance of Maestro Mauro Trombetta. She worked for a long time in the "Panatero" Opera Choir in Alessandria, performing in many Piedmontese cities. She also took part in several opera productions: Marzano's "I Normanni a Salerno", Mozart's ''Der Schauspieldirektor" and "Requiem Mass". She dedicated great attention to German, French and Spanish Chamber Music's study and performance, having concerts in Genoa, Rome, Alessandria and La Spezia. Since 2007 till 2010, she spent a lot of time developing and promoting a project, named "Puzzle Ensemble", based upon Bertolt Brecht's music and musicians. She also experienced XX Century's repertoire, playing Luigi Nono's "La Fabbrica Illuminata" for voice and magnetic tape. She founded a group, The "Phronesis Trio" (Soprano, Organ and Trumpet), who performs successfully in Churches with historical instruments. The Baroque sacred repertoire embraces famous composers such as Bach, Handel, Scarlatti, Mozart. Her voice's versatility allows her to experience different genres, such as jazz, pop and wind ensemble music. She also participated in two concerts in Russia : the first in the celebrations to mark the founding of the city of Moscow born of a cultural exchange between the Russian capital, and the Town of Genoa. The second in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg, for the same reason. On 20 December 2008, as part of a partnership between Genoa Conservatory and Teatro Carlo Felice, she performed as Nicholas in Gabriel Piernè's opera "Les Enfants à Bethlehem". In June 2011, she participated in the National Singing Competition "Lanterna d'oro", finishing in third place. During the Christmas season 2011/2012, she took part as a soloist in a tour lasting three weeks in the People's Republic of China, performing in many major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Hefei, Wuhu and Guangzhou. She recently won the first edition of the prestigious Antonio Semiglia and ranked 1st place in the TV talent show LiguriaSelection, winning a recording contract with Maia Records.
3 Elisabetta Isola Reviews Very original the use of Elisabetta Isola s beautiful, pure and intense voice.. - Linear notes from G.L.o.B 4tet s 11 Lake s Tower Tetralogy by ENRICO RAVA The quality of Elisabetta Isola and Gianpiero Lo Bello's project is greatly warped with the politeness they bring together different musical worlds into every single tune. They succeeded in their experiment, due to their great passion for Music, thought they came from different experiences (classical and jazz). Their goal is to overcome the barricades between "genres", in the name of a contamination that accost and enrich. At last, we have a heterogeneous, concentrated, curious, "dogma-free" CD. The destruction of the musical borders between styles and language, in Music, is a concept that exalt intellectual enrichment, and the cultural participation in consequence. In a virtuosity's process like this, Art rise its own cultural and educational purpose, becoming a great deal for everybody. So, Elisabetta and Gianpiero's Music become the best way of communication for a globalization of different experiences: every CD's track is the ideal ground for a challenging and fertile survey, and sounds are facetings of cultural pluralism. An usual experience of our daily life. - Marco Basso, La Stampa

7 Elisabetta Isola CD Project I-DIVA PROJECT A VOICE BETWEEN ART AND TECHNOLOGY Elisabetta Isola - Soprano Gianpiero Lo Bello - Project Developer, Arranger, trumpet, flugelhorn The project takes life with the specific purpose to give a different - and "up to date" - point of view on fruition of Music. In fact, nowadays' society feel the "yesterday's music" as classical, and being part of an universe which does anything (more or less) on the way that that music could be reached from the great audience as it is: just Music... So, using musical writing and audio editing softwares, some great composers' melodies, since 17th century, have been manipulated on the way to be closer to the standard musical listenings of 3rd Millennium's audience, following criterias of craftmanship (everlasting, in Music History) and respect for the original version. The double nature has I-DiVA PROJECT : 1 - PERFORMING: the project could be followed as a canonic concert, in a season and/or a festival; 2 - EDUCATIONAL: the project could be followed as a "lesson-concert", or "performing lesson" Human Voice becomes a "bridge" between old and modern times: in the name of Creativity, Art is servant of Technology and viceversa, and these two Energies exalt themselves each other. An opportunity to re-appreciate neglect repertoires. A stimulation to enhance musical competences. An occasion to get closer to a language far away in time, but actual in his purity.
