Friday, March 3, 2017 from 8am-12pm CE Hours Provided: 4 General hours This inspired presentation is a tour de force capturing the chain of thinking, the assembles, the intellectual basis for the unique and powerful service that is Chiropractic. Dr. Gentempo will review the significant body of research published in recent years related to varying fields of science including epigenetics, neuroscience, and related clinical case studies. This presentation will answer core critical questions that will include: What is the clear goal of chiropractic and what separates it from other forms of healthcare? Why does the adjustment work and why do different adjustment techniques work? How do we define evidence and how does today s most relevant evidence relate to chiropractic practice? How do we take contemporary research, abstract reasoning, and clinical goals and turn them into day-to-day business and practice management? Dr. Patrick Gentempo is the founder and CEO of Action Potential Holdings, Inc. He is a well-known and respected star in the world of health, wellness and business. While practicing as a chiropractor, he co-developed innovative diagnostic technologies, received multiple patents and built a considerable international business which he led as CEO for over 20 years. Academically, Dr. Gentempo is on the post-graduate faculty of multiple chiropractic institutions and has been published numerous times in peer-reviewed and popular journals. Dr. Gentempo successfully exited his diagnostic technology business in 2011 to form Action Potential Holdings, Inc. Dr. Gentempo regularly lectures to business owners, health providers and entrepreneurs. He recently presented one of this signature lectures, Unleashing the Power of Philosophy in Business for Entrepreneur Organization (EO) and for the Freedom Fest convention is Las Vegas. Some of his unique business views have been published by Forbes. Dr. Gentempo lives with his wife and 2 children in Park City, Utah.

2 Speaker: William Moreau, DC, DACBSP, FACSM, CSCS Building an Olympic Champion: The Difference of a Heartbeat Friday, March 3, 2017 from 3-5pm CE Hours Provided: 2 General hours This two-hour course will provide the learner with insight in regards to the utilization of chiropractic care by the United States Olympic Committee. The presentation addresses the utilization of chiropractic services to enhance human performance. Additional information on performing pre-participation physical examinations and common cardiac conditions in athletes is presented. Review and revisit the focused physical examination of an athlete. Identify the historical keys that may lead to the discovery of cardiovascular pathology in athletes. Discuss current indications and contraindications to the chiropractic management of the patient who is an elite athlete. Identify risk management techniques for the patient who presents with a complex cardiac clinical condition. Dr. William Moreau, DC, DACBSP, is a chiropractic sports medicine physician and evidence based clinician who started work with the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) in 2009 after more than 25 years of private practice. He is the first Managing Director of Sports Medicine for the USOC. Prior to this promotion Dr. Moreau was the USOC Director of Clinics. Moreau develops the USOC sports medicine strategy and oversees all Team USA sports medicine activities including; clinics, games and the National Medical Network. Dr. Moreau served as the Medical Director for Team USA at the London 2012 Summer and Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games. He is the first doctor of chiropractic in the world to serve as a Games Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for a National Olympic Committee. He was the Team USA CMO for the 2015 Toronto Pan American Games and for the 2016 Rio Summer Olympic Games. Through these roles he manages the implementation of medical care to thousands of athletes as provided by hundreds of healthcare providers. Dr. Moreau advances the application of integrated, multiple disciplinary musculoskeletal care through Fortis Cura, a healthcare company dedicated to advancing patient centered care through the utilization and development of evidence based musculoskeletal care pathways. He has been featured in USA Today, Time, ESPN, NPR, NBC, GE Healthcare News, the US Department of Health and Human Services, Army Strategic Studies Group and the Allegany Healthcare Summit. Dr. Moreau has a special interest in sports medicine research and he serves on the NFL International Think Tank on Concussion Research. Moreau has successfully presented over 600 invited lectures throughout the United States and Internationally.

3 Speaker: Steven Gould, DC, DACBR Radiology Technology Review Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 8am-12pm CE Hours Provided: 4 Mandated hours Radiology Technology Review: Hours 1, 2, and 3 Spinal and extremity positioning and procedures: Review of proper positioning and procedures for obtaining optimum radiographic images for best imaging quality to enhance diagnosis while keeping patient exposure as low as reasonably achievable. Spinal imaging with series that match with current CPT coding. Updates on recent deletion and addition of new CPT codes for spine and extremity studies. Hour 4 Digital Imaging review/update; Review of the different types of digital x-ray formats, to include CCD digital acquisition systems, Computed Radiography systems and Direct Digital Radiography systems. Update on proposed Medicare changes on payment schedules for various types of radiography platforms. Such as the phasing out of payments for plain films studies, and the reduction in payments for CR studies. Doctors will be informed of different types of digital imaging systems so that they can make more informed decisions when facing the possibility of updating their radiography systems. 4 Speaker: Christopher Graves, MD Spine Emergencies Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 3-5pm CE Hours Provided: 2 Mandated hours This lecture provides an overview and treatment strategies for spinal pathology that must be diagnosed and treated quickly or disastrous consequences occur. (Spinal Urgencies and/or Emergencies) 1. Identify pathology that should prompt urgent (expedited), or emergent referral to spine surgery. 2. Learn the diagnostic delineation of spinal trauma, tumor, infection, and myelopathy, including "red flag" symptoms 3. Discuss collaboration strategies between Chiropractor and Spine Surgeon 4. Explore resources in the community for treatment of spine pathology Christopher Graves is an Adult and Pediatric Spine Surgeon at Nebraska Spine and Pain Center. Chris grew up in Southern Indiana before making a trek across the Midwest to Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois where he completed a BS in Biomedical Engineering. He then graduated from medical school at the University of Illinois- College of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society in After completion of an Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, he completed a combined Neurosurgical / Orthopaedic Spine Surgery fellowship at the Leatherman Spine Center in Louisville, Kentucky. His interests include spine deformity, revision, and minimally invasive spine surgery.

5 Speaker: Steven Gould, DC, DACBR Imaging of Sports Injuries Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 8am-12pm CE Hours Provided: 4 General hours Course Summary & Objectives: Advanced Imaging of the Shoulder and Knee Hours 1 and 2 Shoulder: MRI of rotator cuff pathology and shoulder injuries: Dr. Gould will discuss MRI protocol for imaging of the shoulder. A review of shoulder anatomy will be provided. Discussion of specific disorders of the shoulder; including Impingement, tendinosis/tendonopathy, ganglion or suprascapular notch cyst, rotator cuff tears, labral injuries, and osseous injuries of the shoulder will be provided. Review Diagnostic Radiology procedures. Review of MRI anatomy and diagnostic ultrasound anatomy and techniques for imaging the shoulder. Overview of rotator cuff pathology and bursal changes via sonography. Knee: MRI of the knee Review of Meniscal and Ligamentous injuries of the knee. Review of mechanisms of injury regarding injury patterns involving various structures of the knee. Dr. Gould will review MRI protocol for imaging of the knee. Review of knee anatomy and specific knee injuries will be provided, including; Meniscal derangements, ligamentous injuries, osseous abnormalities, cartilage injuries, and soft tissue injuries about the knee. Review of diagnostic ultrasound anatomy of the knee and imaging techniques of the knee. Overview of pathologies about the knee that can be visualized via sonography. Objectives: Shoulder: 1. Doctors attending will gain an understanding of when to order various types of imaging studies of the shoulder to visualize anatomy to best advantage and diagnosis. 2. Doctors attending will gain appreciation of the anatomic detail noted on both MRI and Ultrasound imaging of the shoulder. 3. Doctors attending will be able to perform basic interpretation of MRI and ultrasound imaging of the shoulder, in order to better communicate with patients, the findings detailed by radiologists. Knee: 1. Doctors attending will gain an understanding of when to order what types of imaging studies of the knee to visualize anatomy to best advantage and diagnosis. 2. Doctors attending will gain appreciation of the anatomic detail noted on both MRI and Ultrasound imaging of the knee. 3. Doctors attending will be able to perform basic interpretation of MRI and ultrasound imaging of the knee, in order to better communicate with patients, the findings detailed by radiologists.

6 Spinal Trauma in sports: Hours 3 and 4. Cervical spine injuries: Review of mechanisms of injury and injury patterns of the cervical spine. Risk factors for spinal cord injury in sports. Lumbar spine injuries: Review of mechanisms of injury of the lumbar spine. Review of common stress/overuse injuries of the lumbar spine. Objectives: 1. Doctors will be aware of injury mechanism and cervical spine postural changes that can place an athlete at higher risk of cervical spinal cord injury. 2. Doctors will understand the concepts of overuse injuries of the lumbar spine that can mimic other pain patterns from other conditions. The course will aid the doctor in differential diagnosis of stress reactions vs facet syndrome. Dr. Steven Gould is a Board Certified Chiropractic Radiologist.
