1 EUROPEAN MASTERS TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014 REGULATIONS 1 - General The UEC European Masters Track Championships will be conducted in accordance with the General Regulations of the UC I except where herein provided. The UCI General Regulations concerning bicycles shall also apply. 2 Age Categories The European Masters Track Championships will be organised for the following age categories: Men Women 30 to 34 years 30 to 34 years 35 to 39 years 35 to 39 years 40 to 44 years 40 to 44 years 45 to 49 years 45 to 49 years 50 to 54 years 50 to 54 years 55 to 59 years 55 to 59 years 60 to 64 years 60 to 64 years 65 to 69 years 65 to 69 years 70 to 74 years 70 to 74 years 75+ years 75+ Years In all cases, the age of the competitor shall be determined by the actual age on 31 st December of the current year. 3 Disciplines and Technical Regulations 3.1. SPRINT Distance: All ages will compete over 3 laps (750 metres). The competition will be organised in two parts 200m flying time trial (used for seeding purposes only) and sprint matches proper. All riders will qualify for the first round proper. The General principle shall be that every rider shall be beaten at least twice before elimination from the competition. The Commissaires shall organise heats and repechages to achieve this. The Sprint Matches shall consist of preliminary rounds, repechages, semi-finals and finals as required. The semi-finals and finals shall be decided by the best of 3 rides. 1

PURSUIT Distance: Men 30 to 34 years: 3000 metres 35 to 39 years: 3000 metres 40 to 44 years: 3000 metres 45 to 49 years: 3000 metres All other age groups: 2000 metres Women All ages groups: 2000 metres A qualification round shall be held to establish the four fastest riders in each category. The two riders who record the fastest time in the qualifying round shall contest the match for 1 st and 2 nd places. The riders who record the next two fastest times shall contest the match for 3 rd and 4 th places TIME TRIAL Distance: Men 30 to 34 years: 1000 metres 35 to 39 years: 1000 metres 40 to 44 years: 750 metres 45 to 49 years: 750 metres All other age groups: 500 metres Women All ages groups: 500 metres In all cases the Commissaires shall arrange two riders to take to the track at the same time whenever possible POINTS RACE Distance: Men 30 to 34 years: 25 kms 35 to 39 years: 25 kms 40 to 44 years: 25 kms 45 to 49 years: 20 kms 50 to 54 years: 15 kms 55 to 59 years: 15 kms 60 to 64 years: 10 kms 65 to 69 years: 10 kms 70 to 74 years: 10 kms 75 years+ 10 kms Women 30 to 34 years: 15 kms 35 to 39 years: 15 kms 40 to 44 years: 12.5 kms 45 to 49 years: 12.5 kms 50 to 54 years: 10 kms 55 to 59 years: 10 kms 60 to 64 years: 10 kms 65 to 69 years: 10 kms 70 to 74 years: 10 kms 75 years+ 10 kms 2

3 Sprints: Sprints for points shall take place every 10 laps Heats: When the number of entrants exceeds the maximum permitted by the regulations for a straight final, heats will be run on the day of the scheduled final SCRATCH RACE Heats will be run where necessary on the morning of the day of the scheduled final when the number of entrants exceeds the maximum permitted by the regulations for a straight final. Distance: Men 30 to 34 years: 10 kms 35 to 39 years: 10 kms 40 to 44 years: 10 kms 45 to 49 years: 10 kms 50 to 54 years: 7.5 kms 55 to 59 years: 7.5 kms 60 to 64 years: 5 kms 65 to 69 years: 5 kms 70 to 74 years: 5 kms 75 years+ 5 kms Women All age groups: 5 kms 3.6. TEAM SPRINT The Team Sprint Championships will be organised for the following age categories. Men 35 to 44, 45 to 54, 55+ Any three riders in the age range Women Open Any two riders of any age Teams shall register riders of the same Nationality. This is to bring the event into line with the World Masters Championships. If insufficient teams enter then age groups may be combined. A qualification round shall be held to establish the four fastest teams in each category.the two teams who record the fastest time in the qualifying round shall contest the match for 1 st and 2 nd places. TEAM PURSUIT Distance: Men 3000 metres, The time will be taken on the third rider to complete the distance Women 2000 metres The time will be taken on the third rider to complete the distance The Team Pursuit Championships will be organised for the following age categories. Men 35 to 44, 45 to 54, 55+ Any four riders in the age range Women Open Any three riders of any age Teams shall register riders of the same Nationality. This is to bring the event into line with the World Masters Championships. If insufficient teams enter then age groups may be combined. A qualification round shall be held to establish the four fastest teams in each category. The two teams who record the fastest time in the qualifying round shall contest the match for 1 st and 2 nd places. The teams who record the next two fastest times shall contest the match for 3 rd and 4 th places COMBINING CHAMPIONSHIPS Championships are normally organised in age groups of five years: 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, etc. Depending on the number of participants in each age group, these may be divided into age groups of less than five years or regrouped with an adjoining age group, in which case one single classification shall be drawn up. There shall be no separate race for an age group if there are less than six participants in individual events or less than 12 participants in mass start events (ie. points race) ENTRY ELIGIBILITY Individual entries will be accepted from riders within the Masters Age Categories with the following exceptions. Those who have competed in track competitions within World Championships, Olympic Games, Continental Games, Continental Championships, Regional Games, Commonwealth Games or World Cups in the previous season and the current year, except for the races that are open to masters only. Those members of a UCI registered team in the previous season and the current year. Is under suspension from the UCI or any National Federation affiliated to the UCI. Please note previous season relates to track season which started end of March 2013 and finished April

5 3.10. RACE CLOTHING All riders shall compete exclusively in the name of their Nation. Riders may compete in their National jersey, club jersey or a plain jersey LICENCES All riders who compete in the UEC European Masters Track Championships shall be holders of an annual licence issued by a National Federation affiliated to the UCI that is endorsed for International Competition ENTRY FEES Registration: Individual Events: (which includes 10 euro levy to UEC) per event. Team Sprint: Men per team, which can be paid and entered any time up to 24 Women per team, which can be paid and entered any time up to 24 Team Pursuit: Men per team, which can be paid and entered any time up to 24 Women per team, which can be paid and entered any time up to 24 Pre-Registration Closing Date: 22 August If entry registration is received after the pre-registration closing date or on the day of competition then a one off fee of may be charged in addition to any other fees due. (Acceptance of any late registration will be conditional of space in relevant race/s being available.) 5

6 3.12. HELPERS ACCREDITATION Helpers accreditations may be purchased which will allow access to the infield zone. The fee for this will be 10 per day or 35 to cover the duration of the Championships DECISIONS The decision of the panel of UCI Commissaires is final VICTORY CEREMONY The first three riders or teams placed in each Championship shall be available at the time required by the organisers for the Victory Ceremony. The winner(s) of each Championship shall be awarded a European Masters Track Champion s jersey and a gold medal. In addition the 2 nd and 3 rd placed riders shall receive a silver and bronze medal respectively. The National Anthem of the Champions country shall be played during the Victory Ceremony ANTI-DOPING CONTROL The anti-doping Commission of the UCI may designate an Anti-Doping Inspector and UCI Doctor for the event. Riders required to submit to anti-doping control shall be determined by the UCI Anti-Doping Inspector.
