2. The importance of eco-innovation in our national innovation system 9.
Goal of our innovation policy is an effective and efficient value creating innovation value chain, that provides sustainable development, competitiveness and social benefits. Goals of the ecoinnovation are products and processes that contribute to sustainable development, adding market value and producing environmental and social benefits. Similar objectives >>> good chances for synergy 10.
Five priorities of the new Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) strategy ( ): 1. Culture of implementation and utilisation of research results. 2. Quality, output and utilisation driven, effective National Innovation System. 3. Well paid, creative and innovative workforce responding to the demands of knowledge driven economy and society. 4. Economic and legal environment that is conducive to creation and utilisation of knowledge. 5. Companies, products and services that are competitive at the global market. 11.
The STI strategy on sustainability: Development of environment friendly systems and clean, material and energy saving technologies will help to maintain health, natural values and biological diversity, the rational use of natural and human resources, and the implementation of the principle of sustainability. 12.
The STI strategy on R&D of societal interest We support research of societal interest that is not covered by direct corporate interest (e.g. public security, defence, environment protection, ecology, water management, flood protection, consumer protection and health care). We support research that is not motivated by shortrun economy interest but important for the nation in the long run, including research on strengthening the knowledge base for future regulatory or other common activities. 13.
Action plan based on the RDI strategy ( ) May 2007 Programmes based on the five priorities will be put in a coherent system.
