4 commercialization of biomass materials to bioproducts at an accelerated pace Eastman Business Park s comprehensive suite of test, validation, prototyping and pilot manufacturing tools are specifically designed to help accelerate innovation beyond the lab from prototyping and proof of concept into commercialization especially in the biomaterials sector. The Bioscience Manufacturing Center is at the heart of Eastman Business Park s fully-integrated innovation ecosystem for biomaterials innovation. This state-of-the-art fermentation center will have high-energy stainless steel tanks ranging from 40K to 250K liters. It will be made available to companies as a toll manufacturing facility to convert 30,000 tons of first and second generation sugars into a wide range of renewable chemicals and biodegradable plastics. This exciting commercialization initiative poses a unique low cap-ex solution for many mid-stage bio-companies, and will create hundreds of new advanced manufacturing jobs.

6 Next generation biomaterials starts with remarkable SUPPORT FROM established science Onsite Kodak facilities, complete with skilled scientists and engineers, are available to help advance biomaterials technology including a specialty chemicals production and pre-manufacturing center for high value molecules, and a solvent recovery operation that can serve as a bio-refinery to process, store and ship biomaterials. Solvent Recovery Kodak s Solvent Recovery Operation has helped dozens of new external partners turn tons of industrial waste streams into profit centers refining and oftentimes reselling high-purity solvent to new customers for reuse in a variety of applications. Or it can process crude stream into purified products, solving technical distillation problems for those producing advanced biofuels, including companies like GEVO, allowing these companies to focus their resources on their main innovation. Kodak s broad chemical processing capability and breadth of experience have enabled us to refine Isobutanol, a versatile chemical for use in a variety of petrochemical value chains, thus providing our customers with a bio-derived alternative to fossil fuels at a price that is competitive and less volatile than petroleum.
