I participated to many excavations, both in Italy and abroad, I was involved in various research projects and performed educational activities at the universities of Padova and Verona, with focus on archaeological research methodologies and application of technology to archaeology, especially in the fields of excavation relief and study of ancient topography. For many years, I've been using free software both for my profession and the social activities where I m involved. I worked on different projects against digital divide, in Italy and developing countries, with the association Faber Libertatis. I actively promote adoption of free software and open contents, especially concerning the public administration, working with the GFOSS ( Associazione per l'informazione geografica libera ) and at the Associazione per il Software Libero (in which I currently fill the role of advisor / accountant). Since 2008, I m an organizer and member of the scientific committee for the annual convention Archeofoss ( Free, Libre and Open Source Software e Open Format nei processi di ricerca archeologica ) and in 2010 I was one of the creators of the annual Didattica Aperta meeting, dedicated to promoting the use of free software and sharing of knowledge in schools and universities.
