2 Note to Teacher Since the scope of good health is much broader that what can be covered in a semester course, this course outline is written so that you have some flexibility to play to your strengths and your student s needs. Because of this, the and have been kept to a minimum. Those and which are listed should be covered. In addition, cover a number of the or supplement with other appropriate information that you feel is pertinent for your class. Always keep in mind that the goal of high school health is that after taking this course, the student will live a healthier life spiritually, physically, socially, and mentally so that they can be fully equipped for God s service. While the Total Health and Sex Respect books are excellent resources, they are not comprehensive. Whenever a topic is included in one of the books, it is noted after the topic. For example: What influences our health and health choices (TH Intro) means that that topic is covered in the Introduction section of Total Health. Since you may or may not have a strong background in each area of health, a list of Additional Resources is also provided in each unit so that you can find additional information. While these are not all produced by a Christian company, many have excellent information. However, always use Biblical wisdom before supplementing with material or sending students to a website.
