6 Workshop In the workshop we analyze data created by each participant: 1. writing task in mother tongue 2. writing taks in second language Writing task 1 (mother tongue) Describe your last weekend What happened? Where have you been? With whom?... Max: 5 minutes Writing task 2 (second language) Describe your last vacation Where did you go to? With whom? What (special occasion) happened? Max: 5 minutes < Generate the basic analyses of Inputlog and import these data in Excel and conduct basic analyses in group based on slides data preparation > 7

7 Data analyses (individual) Describe and try to interpret the difference between the L1 and L2 writing task from three different perspectives. 1. Compare text production in L1 versus L2: total number of characters, active writing time, pausing time,... Start with: # number of characters product/process ratio total active writing time total average pausing time average pause < word level average pause word level L1 L2 Average 2. Divide your writing process in 5 intervals and describe the pausing activities. Visualize the information. 3. Add another perspective that interests you. 8
