1 What is GreenSmart? This patent-pending, GreenSmart System is the most innovative collection of components, controls and technology of any gas-burning stoves, inserts or fireplaces we have ever made. This assembly embodies our most popular innovations with a twist, and a wide array of thrilling new breakthroughs. We believe these components and controls will make homeowners everywhere covet these gas-burning designs. GreenSmart Standard Features: Choice of Pilots GreenSmart IPI or Continuous Pilot: Allows you to run your fireplace in either standing pilot mode - where the pilot flame continually stays on, ideal during periods of extreme cold when a draft is needed for safe, proper operation or in the GreenSmart mode, where the pilot flame ignites via an intermittent pilot spark that does not run continually and thus conserves energy when the fireplace is not being operated. The GreenSmart system includes a battery back-up, ensuring proper ignition even during power outages. Incredible Turn-Down Ratio: An electric servo motor turns off the rear burner while leaving the front burner on for an attractive flame appearance when heat output is not the priority. This feature offers a turn-down ratio of up to 72 percent. This feature works with all three GreenSmart split-flow burners and offers a more efficient way to heat the room by only burning the correct amount of fuel to keep a constant temperature; so this is another smarter, greener way to enjoy fire in the home. Air Shutter Adjustment Levers: Both the front and rear burner air shutter adjustments are external to the firebox and just behind the concealment door. Each lever is color coded to for easy identification of the front burner (red) and rear burner (yellow), when adjustments to the fire are needed. This feature eliminates the need to turn the unit off, cool down, and remove the glass and logs before adjusting. 56
2 Accent Light: Standard feature in all GreenSmart stoves, fireplaces and inserts. Glide-Away Concealment Door: On some models, the control area is hidden by the external front faceplate but the various valves and wiring can still be seen through the grill. In an effort to provide an elegant final appearance, a concealment door conveniently opens/closes for easy access if control adjustments are desired. Drop-Down Concealment Door: On some models, the control area is hidden by a concealment door that conveniently drops-down for easy access if control adjustments are desired. Automatic Control Panel Lighting: When the concealment door is opened, control panel lighting is automatically triggered to make any adjustments easy during a low light environment in the home. Choice of GreenSmart Split-Flow Burners: Dancing-Fire Split-Flow Burner: The Dancing-Fire is a split-flow steel burner where the two separate burners can be operated together for maximum heat output and flame appearance; or with only the front burner for a magnificent turn-down ratio. This flexibility allows for a continual flame appearance when lower heat output is needed; and when combined with the GreenSmart Remote provides a smarter, greener way to heat the home. Ember-Fyre Split-Flow Burner: The award-winning Ember-Fyre gas burner technology, known for its gorgeous, dancing yellow-flame fire with flickering embers is a split-flow ceramic burner where the two separate burners can be operated together for maximum heat output and flame appearance. This elite burner is the ideal choice for ultimate GreenSmart performance. Diamond-Fyre Split-Flow Burner: The Diamond-Fyre split-flow burner combines a reflective glass floor with subtle uplighting for a contemporary presentation of light with fire. 57
3 Basic GreenSmart Control System: This control panel is located under the front of the appliance, and is operated manually. It has five components: Blower Manual Control Accent Light Manual Control Flame Adjustment: Variable flame adjustments using manually-operated regulator. Pilot Selection: Two position rocker switch. GreenSmart Cartridge A. Comfort Control: This ON/OFF rocker switch electronically turns the rear portion of the burner on/off. B. AA Battery Tray: Easy access from battery pack C. Main Burner Switch: This switch turns the burner on/off. Upgrade GreenSmart Remote Control System: This option includes a hand-held remote, a receiver, a control module, the upgrade GreenSmart cartridge and a wire harness. All basic features are controlled via the hand-held remote control, with two additional exciting features: Thermostat Mode Smart Thermostat Mode: this allows the heating appliance to automatically adjust the flame height based on the temperature set via the GreenSmart remote control s thermostat. So if a temperature of 68 degrees is set, the heating appliance will automatically adjust the flame height to regulate and maintain the set temperature. The burner will modulate from low to high, or high to low until the set temperature is reached, thus conserving fuel and maximizing heating ability to extend the viewing pleasure of the fire. All other systems are controlled manually via the remote, as well. 58
