After exploring the eclectic neighborhoods of Paris, retreat to an intimate pied-à-terre in the historic town of Beaune a truly special property, owned by the Butterfields. From this ideal homebase, explore the bucolic surroundings at your leisure. Optional biking through famous winemaking towns, walk through the vineyards and enjoy a tasting with a local expect. This experience through Paris and Burgundy offers a rich immersion into this magical region. Day 1 Paris Left Bank Welcome to Paris à la B&R! Likely you ve spent a day or two here already taking in the sites, museums and cafés that you ve always dreamed about. Today, B&R takes you deep into the culinary world of Paris Left Bank. Together with your personal guide, you ll walk as real Parisians through the medieval part of the Latin Quarter, a familial neighborhood famous for its high quality and extensive selection of produce. Your tour brings you through a local market, into a cheese producer s shop, several bakers and confectioners shops too, before we end in a regional specialty shop. A walk rich in tastes and flavors, with a focus on family cuisine, with tastings stops, to introduce you to the French gourmandize. We end this morning s tour at a charming and much loved since the 17th century bistro in the 6ème. Dinner is on your own this evening. We re delighted to help make recommendations and reservations in advance. Meals: L HOTEL The Mandarin Oriental, Paris Ideally located in the cultural heart of Paris, the Mandarin Oriental serves as a perfect homebase to explore the City of Love s highlights on foot. 3 Day 2 Beaune Exploration After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, board the train en route to the heart of Burgundy. In the early afternoon, your local host will greet you at the train station and whisk you off to the Bastion. We will give you a chance to freshen up before meeting with a local historian and guide who will then take you on a fascinating walking tour through Beaune s wending streets. Before dinner you will enjoy a casual introduction to Burgundy wines with a friend of B&R. We will then point you in the right direction of a great local hotspot for dinner. Meals: B Day 3 Côte de Nuits Today it is your choice---a walk, a bike ride or a driving tour in the Cote de Nuits. No matter which option you choose you will weave your way past the world famous vineyards of the Côte de Nuits. Lunch will be at a great little domaine in Gevrey Chambertin. In the late afternoon we will allow you some time to enjoy the gardens of the Bastion before meeting up again with our local historian for a tour of the famous Hospice de Beaune-a fascinating example of 15th century architecture. For dining this evening, will again offer you some great restaurant suggestions. Meals: L Day 4 Côte de Beaune Today will be an exploration of the Cote de Beaune---how you move around is again your choice-bike, walk or private car. You will pass by famous villages such as Pommard, Volnay and Mersault. After taking in the gorgeous scenery of the rolling vineyard hills you will enjoy another fabulous lunch at a wonderful gem in Puligny Montrachet. Perhaps some afternoon Beaune shopping will be in order before another delightful dinner in Beaune. Meals: L

4 Day 5 Market Day and more Cote d Or Countryside Today we suggest a morning market visit (available on Wednesdays) followed by a picnic at the Parc de la Bouzaise. Warning-you will surely feel like a local today! In the afternoon we will supply you options for either loop walk or bike ride right from the Bastion. For your final night we have arranged for a private chef to cook you a very special meal in the Bastion. Meals: D Day 6 Farewells Your local host will greet you in the morning to assist with a transfer to the train station. We guarantee you will already be plotting your return! HOTEL Bastion St. Anne Upon turning the key to the Bastion s outer wall (yes, it has its own stone wall) one feels as though they have entered into a magical setting. Dating back to 1637, the Bastion is an official historic monument that has been transformed into an idyllic retreat. The one bedroom (plus loft) house features ancient stone walls that are juxtaposed with clean contemporary design. Its walled courtyard houses a gorgeous garden that is private just to you!
