1 What is new on the T4A GPS Maps Traveller s Africa Million km of roads T4A GPS Maps comes preloaded on a 4Gb micro SD card with standard adapter, ready for Plug & Navigate. This SD card can be used on most map capable Garmin units and has been tested with latest Nuvi models as well. This product is not compatible to igo in car navigation systems, Android or ios devices. For these platforms we have separate products. The SD card also contains installation files for PC and Mac users who want to install the maps on their computers for trip planning or for transferring maps to older Garmin units such as the 276c, 76csx, previous generation etrex, etc. The map growth is organic in nature. We processed 616 data submissions for version These data submissions not only contribute more roads and POI s to the map, it also improves the quality of existing data by means of corrections. The overall road coverage has increased by 15.5% from Map Coverage km of roads, detailed tourist coverage and fully navigable (15.5% increase from 15.10) points of interest (5.3% up from 15.10) Most complete and detailed protected areas (national parks, game reserves etc) in Africa 1452 parks in total.

We are proud to break the 1million kilometre mark for the first time! This is mainly due to a major milestone in our mapping operations, i.e. a very complete street level coverage of South Africa is now included in the map. Tracks4Africa Updates For South Africa we partnered with a street data provider and incorporated complete street level detail for the entire country. On previous versions we have tested this in Cape Town, but for we are happy to report that the entire South Africa is now supported with detailed streets and names for each street. We have not included street numbers (yet). Map tiles have been changed. The size of the street level data for South Africa necessitated the need to increase the number of map tiles we use. The map regions all remain the same as for previous versions, but you may notice that certain regions now have more than one map tile. This should not affect the use of the maps at all. Fuel stops have increased by 52%. That is a big number which grew from to fuel stops in version The reason for this

3 dramatic increase is the result of another partnership with a oil services company who visited each and every additional fuel stop on our map. Many old fuel stops have been removed, some fuel brands have changed but more importantly a huge number of fuel stops were added to the map. The most notable changes can be found in South Africa (4220), Mozambique (440) and Kenya (1649). For Mozambique and Kenya we also sourced the roads leading to these new fuel stops which also had a positive effect on map coverage. In yet another partnership, we have increased the number of lodging points of interest on our map by 13%. We are working our way through the accommodation listings on Nightsbridge and once the location is confirmed by our own mapping team, we add them to the map. Expect more to be added for as well. Another benefit from this partnership is that the attribute data (contact details, rates etc) are now automatically updated from Nightsbridge as and when accommodation owners update their data on this booking system. In many instances a booking link can now also be provided from our website for activated listings. Karin Theron s rich trip data added from her seven month trek through Africa. Countries updated with her data include most of Eastern and Southern Africa. The French Overseas Territory of Reunion, an island off the East coast of Madagascar has now been added to our maps.

4 The Northern African countries of Algeria, Tunisia and Libya have been updated to include many of the main routes of travel through these countries. A new southern bypass has been added in Nairobi, Kenya as well as the routing for the city updated. Wemmershoek Peak Hiking Trail added. Polygon features for the top ten biggest rivers in Africa have been added and updated to improve the attractiveness of our maps. Polygons and location of Omo National Park and Majo National Park added, including tracks for Omo National Park New tracks were added in Bwabwata National Park. New tracks were added in Masia National Park Die Hel Se Pas was added. Corrections made for Old Voortrekker Pass. Updates were made to Bontebok National Park outside of Swellendam. Updates for Ruaha National Park, Tanzania were added. Updates for Banhine National Park, Mozambique were added. Routing Errors and new POI s were added for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
