1 Kingspan KS1000 RA Roof Acoustic Panel APLICATIONS The KS1000 RA Roof Acoustic Panel is trapezoidal form roof system with a standard fastening method (through-fix solution) dedicated for acoustic insulation and acoustic absorption applications. The panels are suitable for internal applications as wall or/and ceiling elements or for external applications for building, where the roof slope is: Higher than 5 (8,5%) for roofs with one panel in the slope direction Higher than 8 (14%) for roofs with two or more panels in the slope direction Due to the fact that internal skin is perforated and the mineral fibre core is exposed to humidity penetration, the application of KS1000 RA panels must be analysed from the point of humidity transfer and condensation. Uncontrolled humidity transfer or condensation can cause durability issues which can lead to un-controlled deflection or delamination of the panels. The application should be considered separately due to aggressiveness of the environment. Internal facing of KS1000 RA panels is perforated on whole surface. Shape and dimensions of perforation are presented on separate drawing. The modular width of KS1000 RA panel is 1000mm. Ext. Internal face - perforated Jpoint detail Ext. 3 Available Lengths The standard panel length is between 3.00 and meters. Taking into consideration the weight of panels and perforated skin on one side, the production of panels longer than 6.00 meters can cause serious damages to the panel during handling and installation. The KS1000 RA panels can be manufactured with clean cut-back. The standard length of cutback is 50mm up to 300mm. If the project requires panels to be connected in the direction of the roof slope, the panels must have an overlap. For these situations, we can deliver panels with factory made cut backs which sizes are higher than standard. These panels are normally delivered with a cut back from 150mm up to 250 mm, but other sizes of cutback lengths are possible. Cut backs are manufactured either as RIGHT (R) or LEFT (L), depending on the direction of installation of panels. MATERIALS - STEEL 1. Steel grades: S220GD+Z275, S250GD+Z275 or S280GD+Z275. Hot-dip zinc coated steel with a total of 275g/m 2 of zinc, according to EN 10147:2000. This can be finished with a number of coatings - polyester, PVDF, Plastisol and Foodsafe finishes. 2. Austenic stainless steel grade according to EN Without any coating system, surface finish 2B(IIIc). 4 External Coating Options 1. Standard Polyester PES Polyester is a universal, economic coating system suitable for exterior and interior applications. The nominal coating thickness is 25 µm. The colour range is available according to RAL palette. Standard external colour range: RAL 9002, RAL 9010, RAL 9006, RAL 1015, RAL 5012, RAL Standard internal colour range: RAL 9002, RAL PVDF PVDF offers unequalled colour and gloss retention and good corrosion resistance. The nominal coating thickness is µm. It can be used in climates with extremely high UV radiation combined with extreme temperatures and relative humidity. The standard colour range includes metallic silver. 3. Plastisol 200 µm Plastisol is a high performance coating system with a grains finish and a nominal thickness of 200 µm. Typical properties of Plastisol are excellent abrasion, high corrosion resistance, excellent flexibility and therefore very good scratch resistance. Internal Coating Options 1. Polyester Polyester coating with a nominal thickness of 15 µm and 25 µm. Standard internal colour range: RAL 9002, RAL 9010, Kingspan White. 2. Foodsafe The surface of this µm thick polymer coating is non-toxic and resistant to mould, durable and easy to clean. The standard colour is white RAL INSULATION CORE Man Made Mineral Fibre (MMMF) manufactured. The lamella orientation is perpendicular to facings. The top, bottom, sides and ends are protected with EPS foam and the entire palette is wrapped in plastic. The number of panels in each pack depends on panel thickness. 6 Delivery All deliveries (unless indicated otherwise) are by road transport to project site. Off loading is the responsibility of the client. STRUCTURAL TABLES For detailed information please contact local Kingspan Technical Department. The recommended distance between the supports should not exceed 1.50 meters and must consider appropriate snow load and roof conditions. Fastening of Kingspan KS1000 RA panels to supporting structure is carried out by selfdrilling screws with diameter of min. 5.5mm made of carbon galvanised steel or stainless steel. The screws must be equipped with washers of minimum diameter of 22mm or storm washer called callot. Screw heads are visible after installation.
