3 Electricity is often unavailable in exactly the regions that are cut off from civilization and difficult to reach. Whoever wants to help people there effectively needs a stable power supply. Preferably one that is environmentally friendly and one that uses resources that are readily available: CrossPower is a mobile solar and wind power plant. If required, battery storages and if necessary modern diesel generators ensure the supply remains stable. Smart energy The smart energy refers to all intelligent technologies for energy production, storage, transmission and consumption control. It therefore incorporates the whole supply chain from the energy supplier to the consumer. All smart energy criteria were taken into consideration during the development of the CrossPower System. CrossPower 3
4 Environmentally friendly energy for an entire camp. The CrossPower System: how it works The new energy system Cross Power enables, for the very first time, the construction of robust scalable microgrids based on renewable energy anywhere in the world. The intelligent control balances power generation and consumption optimally, and powerful battery storage ensures network stability. Solar panels, wind turbines, modern diesel generators: these are the different types of CrossPower System energy sources. Due to its intelligent power management system, reliable and weather-independent use can be made of renewable energy to generate electricity in remote areas, in conflict zones or refugee camps. Modern lithium-ion batteries and modern diesel generators ensure a stable supply of power. Combining photovoltaic arrays and wind power plants with conventional diesel generators leads to a significant reduction in operating costs and fossil fuel consumption. Green energy comes first The main task of the control software is to guarantee grid stability around the clock with optimum energy efficiency. The system selects the renewable energy source independently. As soon as there is an oversupply of energy, the battery is charged. If there is not enough 4 CrossPower

Thus, the system achieves an efficiency rate of 90 %. Consumers with different priorities Consumers can be prioritised as required. This means that medical facilities, fridges or an IT system are guaranteed 100 % power supply even in the case of an overload. Accommodation, TVs, etc. for example have a lower priority. If there is not enough energy available they will be switched off. Proven in practice: the CrossPower System in Hungary. Can be transported as required The entire CrossPower System can be housed in a standard container, if necessary. The pluggable terminals from PFISTERER allow fast assembly on-site without qualified personnel. Even when operating, the system is fully autonomous and can be maintained remotely if required. CrossPower helps to help out: smart energy supply for all types of camps. CrossPower 5
6 Microgrid The term microgrid describes a completely self-sufficient, regional and smart power supply. Local power producers, storage facilities and consumers are directly connected. The power is produced by photovoltaic systems, wind turbines and other sources directly consumed or it is stored in accumulators. The greatest advantages of microgrids are the consumer-oriented production and the short transmission path to the consumer.
