The camp will emphasize stick work, dodges, 1 v 1, 2 v 1, offensive/defensive skills, and game situations and also stress the importance of conditioning and sport specific stretching. Campers must bring sticks, goggles, mouth guards and shin guards. August 3 - August 6 Monday - Thursday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm 4 Day Football Full Contact Entering Grade 7-8 Take part in one of the few FULL CONTACT football camps in the state. Learn safe and proper tackling techniques as well as the fundamentals of the Pope John football offensive and defensive schemes. July 13- July 16 Monday - Thursday 9:00 am 12:30 pm Cost: $ Day Youth Football Entering Grades 3 6 The Pope John Football program staff and players will teach the fundamentals of the spread offense and various defensive strategies. Current varsity players lead the campers in drill instruction and fun competitions at the conclusion of each day. July 13 - July 16 Monday - Thursday 9:00 am 12:30 pm Cost: $ Day Boys Lacrosse Entering Grades 5-9 The Pope John Boy s Lacrosse Camp welcomes all players of varying skills, from beginner to advanced. Emphasizing individual and team offense and defense, the fourday camp, held on Pope John s turf field, will improve players skills through drills and games against players of equal ability. The camp is designed to instruct every player, from the beginner to the experienced tournament athlete, on mechanics and tactics. Campers will work on groundstrokes, volleys, and overheads and improve their physical conditioning via a variety of drills and footwork exercises. Campers must supply their own tennis racquet and proper non-marking shoes. July 27 - July 30 Monday - Thursday, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Cost: $ Day Track and Field Entering Grades 3-9 Join the Pope John Track & Field and Cross Country coaching staff for four days of training and fun. Staffed by USATF certified coaches and national caliber high school athletes, you will enjoy both individual and small group instruction based on age and ability level. Topics covered include dynamic warm-ups, stretching and flexibility, body mechanics, weight training, plyometric exercises, and event-specific techniques for throws, jumps, sprints and distance. The Pope John Track & Field team has qualified over 620 athletes for the Indoor and Outdoor National Championships, and those athletes earned 129 All-American citations. The program has won 36 NJSIAA Team Championships, and the 2014 Boys Sprint Medley Relay Team was crowned National
