2 THE CONVENTIONAL OPEN-HOLE DRILLSTEM TESTING TOOL The Conventional Open-Hole Drillstem Testing Tool may be used for open-hole testing to evaluate formations. This system is typically used for testing zones as the well is been drilled. Upon penetration of a formation, the bottomhole drilling assembly is pulled out of the well and the Conventional Drillstem Testing tool is run in to test the formation. The conventional packer assembly requires weight on the tool in order to expand and seal against the wellbore. With this system, tailpipe to the bottom of the well is required. Since weight is required on the packer at all times, the system uses a rotating shut-in tool to obtain flow periods and shut-in periods. The tool allows three flow periods and three shut-in periods to be obtained for each zone tested. In addition, the shut-in tool allows reverse circulation during the final shut-in period. Bypass pipe and an additional packer may be added to convert this system into a straddle packer system for testing upper zones in the well. System allows testing of formations shortly after penetration by the drill bit. Testing is conducted with minimal formation damage. Shortly after penetration of the zone, wellbore diameter and conditions are generally ideal for testing with conventional open hole packers. System is very economical to operate. Three flow periods and three shut-in periods may be obtained with each zone tested. Rig time is minimized since reverse circulation of produced well fluids may take place during the final shut-in period. Bypass equipment may be added to the system for conversion to a straddle packer system to allow testing upper zones in a well. TOOL SIZES AVAILABLE O.D. (mm) O.D. (Inches) T2C 1J9 Page 45 of 50

4 FULL-BORE ANNULUS OPERATED DST TOOLS Full-Bore Drillstem Testing are used for testing formations after casing has been set in a well. These tools may be used for testing in vertical or deviated wells. Although the tools are designed primarily for offshore operations, drillstem testing may also be performed on land operations where wells are deep and highly deviated. The full-bore configuration allows perforating through the system. High production flow rates may be achieved. Pressure-Volume Balanced Slip Joints provide free travel in the test string for offshore floating platforms. Drill collars used below the slip joints ensure sufficient weight is placed on the packer. A Hookwall Casing Packer is used to isolate zones and to anchor against the casing. The packer is operated by applying an upward pull, and rotating a half turn to the right at the tool, and setting down. A straight upward pull releases the packer. An integral bypass allows fluid to equalize across the packer after testing is completed. A Multi-Cycle Circulating Valve allows spotting of fluids to the packer as well as reverse circulating after drillstem testing. This valve is operated by cycling pressure down the tubing and the annulus in order to open or close the circulating ports. The Annulus Pressure Operated Shut-In Tool Assembly allows multiple flow periods and shut-in periods. Pressure is applied in the annulus to open the valve for periods, and pressure is released from the annulus to close the valve for shut-in periods. Excessive pressure applied to the annulus causes the valve to lock closed, as a safety measure. System allows testing of formations after casing has been run into a well. Concerns about open-hole formations are eliminated. System maybe used for land or offshore operations System may be used in vertical or highly deviated wells System is very economical to operate Multiple flow periods and shut-in periods may be obtained with each zone tested Full-bore configuration allows perforating through the system and high flow rate production O.D. 5 INFLATABLE DRILLSTEM TESTING TOOL The Inflatable Drillstem Testing Tool may be used for open-hole testing which allows evaluation of zones before running casing in the well. The high cost of perforating through casing and subsequent remedial work for abandonment on many wells, may be avoided by using these tools to perform open-hole tests. In addition, the Inflatable Drillstem Testing may be used for Cased-Hole Testing which is often performed in older producing wells. Each zone may be isolated to obtain reservoir flowing and shut-in pressures, fluid samples under reservoir conditions, and water content of the producing fluids. High Volume Single Piston (Double Acting) Pump Low maintenance costs because the number of moving parts is significantly reduced External ports allow rapid adjustment of maximum inflation pressure used in packers External ports allow Cartridge Check Valves to be replaced quickly Integral Fluid Bypass Passage allows equalized pressure above the Top Packer and below the Bottom packer at all times Re-settable without tripping Used for Open-hole and Cased-Hole applications Multiple flow periods and shut-in periods with each zone tested Precise subsurface data using electronic instrumentation Packer inflation pressure recorder on Drillstem Tests No Bridge Plugs required for testing multiple zones in older producing wells TOOL SIZES AVAILABLE O.D. 6 CASED-HOLE DRILLSTEM TESTING TOOL The Cased-Hole Drillstem Testing Tool is used for testing formations after casing has been set in a well. These tools may be used for testing vertical or highly deviated wells. In addition, these tools may be used for land or offshore wells. Cased-Hole are available in standard bore or full-bore configuration. Full-bore tools allow perforating through the system. As well, full-bore tools allow high production flow rates. A hookwall packer is used to isolate zones and to anchor the tools against the casing. This packer is operated by applying an upward pull to the tool string, rotating a half turn to the right, and setting down partial string weight on the packer. A straight upward pull releases the packer. An integral bypass passage in the packer allows pressure to equalize across the packer at the end of the drillstem test. Multiple flow periods and shut-in periods may be obtained with cased-hole drillstem testing tools. The hydraulic shut-in tool is opened by setting partial string weight to the tool, and is closed by applying a slight upward pull to the tool. A pressure-volume balanced slip joint assembly is used to easily identify free travel for opening and closing the hydraulic shut-in tool. System allows testing of formations shortly after casing has been run into a well. Concerns about open-hole formations are eliminated. System may be used for land or offshore operations. System may be used in vertical or highly deviated wells. System is very economical to operate. Multiple flow periods and shut-in periods may be obtained with each zone tested. Full-bore configuration allows perforating through the system and high flow rate production. TOOL SIZES AVAILABLE O.D. (mm) O.D. (Inches) T2C 1J9 Page 49 of 50
