2 Care must be taken when installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the Accessory Installation Practices document. This document covers such items as: Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc) Safety (eye protection) Vehicle Disassembly / Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc) Preparation Remove negative battery cable Installation 1. Secure the relay and fuse to the negative battery harness next to the battery. Secure top and bottom with wire ties (picture 1). Picture 2 3. Connect the ring terminal from the relay (12v red wire) routing it through positive red terminal cover (picture 3) Picture 1 2. Attach the ring terminal with 2 black wires of the fog light harness to the 10mm bolt at factory ground next to battery (picture 2) Picture 3 4. Route the DRL and Fog Light wires to large vehicle grommet and secure with 3 wire ties (picture 4, 4A, 4B) Page 2 of 10

3 Picture 4 grommet or cut! slit in grommet. Push the red, black, red-white and black/white wires from the DRL harness and the red and gray/white wires from the Fog Light harness through firewall. Note: Extra caution should be taken not to damage the connectors. Seal with 3M Silicone sealant Vehicle Disassembly 6. Remove left side switch panel by disengaging clips. Remove connector plugs (picture 5) Picture 4A Picture 5 7. Mount Fog Light switch into switch knockout on left side of dash (see picture 6) Picture 4B 5. Locate the large vehicle harness grommet on the left side. If accessible, cut the auxiliary wiring access nipple off the Picture 6 Page 3 of 10

4 8. Remove lower knee finish panel by removing 2 Phillip screws. Disengage 2 clips and disconnect tire pressure reset plug (picture 7) Picture Turn the steering wheel assembly (picture 10) Picture 7 9. Remove lower steering wheel cover 10. Push the right and left sides of lower steering column cover to disengage the 4 claws (picture 8) Picture From inside the cabin, locate the wires that were pushed through in step 5. It will be the grommet above the gas pedal (picture 11) Picture Insert fingers into the opening of the tilt leveler of the lower steering column cover to disengage the claw (picture 9) Picture 11 Page 4 of 10

5 14. Push the pins of the DRL wires into the connector supplied in kit. Make sure that the wire colors of the connectors are aligned with the wire colors of the driver box: black with black and red with red, etc (picture 12) 18. Connect the wires from the DRL driver box to the supplied double female bullet connector. Make sure that colors are aligned to each other: black, blue and red (picture 14) Picture Connect the DRL driver boxes to the wires pushed into the connectors on step 14 (make sure wire colors are aligned). 16. Route the wires through the steering column. Use wire ties as needed 17. Wire tie the DRL driver boxes to the metal bar under the steering column with supplied 15 wire tie (picture 13) Picture T-tap green/black wire from fog light harness to connector E8 pin 11, light green wire (first pin on right). Connector E8 is located under the steering column, next to headlight control arm (picture 15 and 16) 20. T-tap orange/black wire from fog light harness to connector E8 pin 20, dark green wire (first pin on left) (pictures 15 and 16) Picture 13 Page 5 of 10 Picture 15

6 Picture T-tap the red wire from DRL harness to connector E17 pin 8, gray wire. Connector E17 is located at the back of the mirror switch control (pictures 17 and 19) Picture Secure ground (black) wire to bolt in kick panel (see picture 20) Picture T-tap the blue wire from DRL harness to connector E47 pin 5, green wire. Connector E47 is located at the back of the traction control switch (pictures 18 and 19) Picture 20 Picture Secure top of fog light relay to big white wire at junction box connector. Run wire to switch location on switch finish panel and secure any excess wire along with bottom of relay to white wire at junction box (see picture 21) Page 6 of 10

7 Picture 21 Picture Secure any excess wire from t-taps from to main wire harness next to the steering wheel column (picture 22) 29. Run harnesses along top of radiator and secure with wire ties (picture 24) Picture 24 Picture Connect switch harness to switch 27. Reinstall dash panels and connectors ENGINE COMPARTMENT 30. Reinstall radiator supports and torque to 14 ft-lb. 31. Run harness down right and left side of vehicle 32. Remove splash guard corners on both sides by removing a 10mm bolt (picture 25) 28. Remove 2x12 mm bolts holding the radiator supports from core support (picture 23) Page 7 of 10

8 Picture Remove fog light cover plates on both sides of vehicle 34. Insert one side of the fog light into the plastic sleeve and secure with 2 supplied Phillip screws (picture 26). Repeat this step for other side of vehicle. Picture Plug in left side fog light into harness plug. Plug in the left side DRL into harness plug and secure with wire tie to factory harness 37. Plug in right fog light into harness plug. Plug in the right side DRL into harness plug and secure with wire tie to factory harness 38. Reattach the lower splash shield corners 39. Reconnect negative battery cable. Torque to 36 in-lbs. Picture Snap on both DRL bezels (picture 27) Page 8 of 10

9 Check System for Operation 1. Reconnect battery terminals 2. Turn on headlamp low beams, then press fog light switch to ON position. Fog lights should be working. Fog lights will only work when the low beam headlamps are ON. Fog lights will NOT work when the high beam headlamps are ON 3. DRL will work at full power when ignition switch is ON. DRL will dim out to DOT specifications when lights are ON. eyes. Both of these issues must be accomplished while putting as much light as possible on the road. These fog weather light aiming instructions are suggestions taken from common practice and the S.A.E. standard J583. Some modifications to these instructions may be necessary to minimize glare. Visual aim is made with the top of the beam 4 inches below the lamp center at 25 feet with the lamp facing straight forward (see picture 28) Picture 28 Fog Light Aiming Traditional fog lights are usually mounted in the front bumper about inches from the ground. There are two important issues to address when installing fog lights: the first is to minimize the amount of return glare into the drivers eyes, and the other is to minimize the glare into oncoming Page 9 of 10
